Are they dead?

ok so I went to transplant my plants into bigger pots and one was stuck in pretty good so I gave her (hopefully) a tug and i ripped the bottom of her roots off. This plant is about 5 days old and Im wondering if it will be fine and recover or if its going to die

5 days old seems a little early for transplant. What size pot was she in? I have damaged roots before. Good News, she lived. Bad news, She hermied and pollinated my entire crop.

Just treat it like a clone until the roots grow back.

It should be fine, even though 5 days is fairly young to stress them like this. Some people will root prune plants. I don't do that myself but the plants recover and continue on.
