Are window units good with co2 enrichment?

They use outside air which cools and gets fed inside, the Co2 will still be in the incoming air .

most window units have a switch that lets you pick between recirculating inside air & taking in outside air.

I have a frigidare 6500 window unit (LOWES, $139, 10.7 SEAR) that recirculates room air . Completely sealed with front of unit taking in room air & top front vents returning cold air. I mounted in the top of my wall. This is in my new room build, being built for CO2.

The link of the diagram shows external air fed in to it, cooled and fed inside.
Then Hot air being released from the cooling system.

So before you slate me for not viewing the link maybe you should look at it yourself.

FUCKING NOOBS.

wow. look at the diagram again dude. lol see the panel seperating the two chamber and the tubing connecting them? Any idea how ac works? lol you would think that the big air flow arrows would be obvious....

Yeah the diagram clearly shows that in the front it pulls hot air in from the room, cools it and then blows it back into the room. Then in the back it shows it pulling cooler air from outside....running it across the compressor coils...and being blown out of the back as hot air. Now most AC units do have a choice between either a fresh air intake that will pull air from outside and cool it and blow into the room.....or you can have it just recirculate the air in the room.

I was told that you still lose some co2 with a window unit and even a dual hose portable AC. The only real way to not lose any co2 would be central AC or Mini Split ( ductless air ).. I'm no HVAC guy so Im just going by what I was taught. I myself use my central air in a empty bedroom that I converted to a sealed room.

im sure that central or mini splits are sealed with no doubts. I am thinking that a window unit can be a great transitional tool to be utilized with very little upfront cost. Window units are known as being more effective than portable units. I am liking some of the threads on here about using window units. I'm sold, 100 bucks is very small investment :)

If you invest in a greenhouse contri=oller it will help you by shutting off the ac or exaust while the room is injected and for 15 mins or however long you tell it to after so that the plants can itake the co2 then the room is exausted/cooled for a period of time you choose then the cylce repeats. you loose some co2 no matter how you do it but you loose less if you do that way. you need to exaust the room and replenish the co2 rich air every so often anyway. some people think that if you just keep pumping co2 in that is all you have to do and it does'nt work that way hence the words co2 enrichment. i have been using co2 for a year now and have mininmized my loss of material but still use 40lbs every 10 days at the cost of $36 per 10 days and i feel like im getting way more than that in yields. hope this helps
