Arizer Extreme Q

Any other Extreme Q owners on here? I'm a big fan of smoking, but my lungs and throat have been taking a bit of a beating lately with how often I have to medicate. I did some research and decided on the Extreme Q as a great "bang-for-your-buck" option for my first table-top vape.

I just went out to my local store this afternoon and came back with my new toy, and after playing around with it for the last hour I have to say that I'm very impressed. It looks and feels like a very well made unit at this price point ($200), with lots of options: whip, vapour bags, 3 fan speeds, remote, programmable auto-shutoff, etc. I'm a big fan of the simple and sleek design as well.

Plugged it in, ran it on high for about 25 minutes to burn off any dust or residue from the factory, loaded up a Cyclone bowl with some Kandy Kush and gave it a test drive. Tons of control, very easy to dial in the right temperature for the desired vapour density......185ish gives a really nice light vapour, and at 200-205 you can get some seriously dense rips. No combustion that I can detect, and the taste, wow! It's been a while since I've used any kind of vape and they have really come a long way.....the taste is amazing, and I'm picking up flavours in strains that I've been smoking for months and had no idea were there. Extremely smooth, and it only took me a couple of draws to get far more medicated than I do off of a couple of bong rips.

All in all, a fantastic first impression and two thumbs up so far, and I haven't even tried one of the bags yet (I'm more of a whip guy). Curious how many others own or have tried the Extreme Q and what others think of the unit? I'm not a vape expert, so I'd love any tips and tricks that the more experienced vapers would like to share.

was this your first experience with vap'ing, or have you used others in the past??
reason i'm asking, i'd never vap'ed before, but heard about the health benefits, etc, from vap'ing, so about, idk 3 or 4 years ago, i went out and bought a v tower, extreme kit.. it came with all the bells and whistles, a remote, whip, bag, 24 inch crome wheels, twin turbo v10, the whole nine yards..
i might have used it about 5 times in the years i've owned it, and not in the last 3 at all... pretty much only when i bought it.. it's a nice bit of kit and all, but idk, i don't like the effects of vap'ing vs combustion.. for me, it's a much mellower high vs combustion, more in the head and shorter lasting, and lighter hitting over all for me.. i know a few others on here who say the same thing about vaporizing, but then there's others who swear by it, and hardly smoke at all at this point..

I've vaped in the past, just not recently. I actually forgot how much I enjoyed the cleaner high feeling from vaping, it's a really nice change from ripping glass pieces or joints all the time. Very economical too, I'm way more medicated right now than I would be if I were to have smoked the equivalent amount. Health benefits are a major reason why I made the purchase, I'm a heavy user and all the smoke has just been killing my lungs and throat lately. Taste is another factor for me, I like that different aspects of a strain's flavour will come through vaping vs. smoking.

I agree with you though, like most things vaping vs. smoking is a matter of personal taste. I enjoy variety, and in my world they both have their merits and uses and can forsee the Extreme Q being a daily driver for me.

I really wanted to like vaping, and lord knows at my age I shouldn't be smoking, but none that I have tried will ring my bell like my bong. I just threw out my flight time magic box or whatever they call the thing. I've tried an Airizer Solo and it was like trying to suck a thick milkshake through a straw. I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on the units that cost several hundred bucks without the benefit of a test run. Maybe you can't teach an old dog new tricks,.

Long time smoker here too (20+ years). I did my research on this unit before buying, and it has the best customer reviews on any unit in this price range, and seems to address the common issues you bring up. No resistance when taking a draw, and very easy to fine tune to get your vapour as thick and potent as you desire. If there any vape lounges where you are, try one out and you might be pleasantly surprised. The table-top units pack more of a punch than the little hand-held portable units you mention.

same here mango...
i didn't want to pull the trigger on a $600 volcano when i had never vap'ed before. i 'd have been pisses if i had went that route and had the same experience, which i don't see why i wouldn't.. i know the volcano is the best on the market and all, but idk, i can't see it being that much better then a v-tower, when it's still vap'ing..
same deal for me, if i wanna be ripped, i'll just take a few rips off of my roor and be good for a few hours..

and btw, i'm not trying to slam the v-tower, it seems like a nice bit of kit, it's just vap'ing isn't for me.. i've also tried one of the e-pens for tobacco, my gf bought me one for xmas, a pretty nice one and all, and i pretty much feel the same with the epen as i do the v-tower, and just prefer combustion over vaporizing is all..

Volcanoes are fantastic units (I've used them), but just too steep for me as an initial vape purchase. At 1/3 of the price, I'm thrilled with the Extreme Q so far.....so much so that I'm going to have myself another rip bongsmilie

Mine just died after 3 years of steady use. Love it so I got another about two months ago. Not a big fan of the whip. But love elbow packing me some bags !

how much better would you say the volcano is over the v-tower? and better how? lol, sorry for all the questions, just stoned, and curious.. is it just better build quality, better features, better high from it? ty. :D

I've used several portable vapes and a few table tops. I've been mostly disappointed after a while in the cheaper products. You seem to get what you pay for with vaporizers.

The build quality of the Volcano units is second to none, and they have the best vape bag delivery system out there from what I have seen. I've known people that have had Volcanoes for a very long time, used them every day, and never had a single issue. The pros of the Arizer unit in my mind are more versatility (although the bag delivery isn't as nice), it has a whip which I prefer most of the time, it is made in Canada, and is literally 1/3 of the price. I'm a cheapskate, and I don't consider the Volcano to be anywhere near 3x as good.

From my experience, if you prefer the bag system, vape a lot, and want the best, save up and get the Volcano. For anyone else that may not vape as much or wants a more versatile unit that is still very well made, I think it would be tough to find a better bang for your buck than the Arizer Extreme Q kit. For $200, I feel like this is a fantastic unit that I would have spent more money on if required.

EDIT: I just went to Torontovaporizer.ca and read over reviews there, and there are a lot of Volcano owners and users that actually seem to prefer the Extreme Q. Like anything, it's a matter of taste.

Great to hear, thanks Johny! I'm about to deploy my first bag right now :) As a long-time owner, gotta any handy tips or tricks for the unit? What temps and fan speed have you found best for the bags?

I have an Q...I really like it. The only thing is the bags...I'm thinking of just starting to buy oven bags as I'm pretty sure that's all they are.I did it for health reasons as well...the more I smoked the worse it got. Much better now. I also have a portable vapir that holds enough for a dose and has a rechargeable battery. Good for travelling.

I hate to rain on Devils parade. Especially when he just put out for one. I had the v-tower but sold it. IMO it does not compare to the volcano. I'd say the V tower is second though. I just didn't care for it much. After using a volcano I saw why it is so much better. But yes 3 times the amount which is a real barrier for many.
The volcano is built like a tank...it's even grounded and made in Germany as well. It has the best bag setup around ...period! It also has a much bigger screen to put product on. It tastes better and imo is far superior to any other Vape on the market.
If you can afford it..you won't regret it. I know a guy who uses his volcano everyday for 7-8 years now...no issues. Sorry Devil..I hate to contradict your feelings and feel bad even saying so.
But guys are asking and I just happen to know these things and have used both units. I don't miss my V tower but sure would like a volcano.

I don't disagree with you at all.....the Volcano is the industry standard in terms of build quality, no doubt. For 1/3 of the price and the added whip option, I'm very happy. I will probably only use the bag 25% of the time, so this unit makes a lot of sense from that perspective....i just couldn't justify $600 on a one-trick pony so to speak.

The bigger screen enable the product to be loaded in a broader and thess thick method. Therefore the product vapes quicker, more evenly and with less overall heat applied. It simply tastes better. And the bag setup is far superior and really well thought out. for example it seals the bag automatically when you remove it from the machine. Then yo insert your own personal lip thingy dooey and it also seals when you take your lips off it...really cleaver

Good choice for that money for sure...I understand.

For sure. I find that packing elbow packs is really good way to conserve on your meds. Just pack the screen that looks like a thimble lightly with your buds. And thats usually good for one bag of vape. I also like to let the unit warm up for at least 5 min before I use it to get the best vape production. I usually just turn on the unit and set the 4 hour shut off timer. My unit is left on for at least 6 hours a day usually...rather then having to let it warm up for each session

I mostly vape in 195 -205 range at fan 3. Depending on how much u are using it I find the thimble screen can get clogged and limit vape so I'm usually rotating screens through an alcohol bath to clean them of resin every few days.

I've also started buying oven turkey bags as a cheep sub to buying the bags that come with the unit

Thanks for the tips. :) I'm really enjoying the effects from my vape session, despite loading up a heavy Kush cross, the high is very much in the head and isn't nearly as couch-locky. Very pleasant.
