just like to say hello to everyone, first timer in all respects. im just about to begin my first grow room (a small space in the basement 4'x4'x5'high) and thought id ask the experts before i invest the several hundred dollars it'll take in equipment (not to mention the blood, sweat and tears). i want to know if the equipment i plan to purchase will not only work together but wont burn my house down or some other catastrophic event that i may have overlooked.
ballast- Lumatek 400w 120/240v HPS/MH Dimmable (hydro farm) [because i hear lumatek is one of the top brands]
reflector- Hydrolux Cool Tube Reflector 8" [because of the height restriction i want the light as close as possible]
air flow- 6" Sub Zero Inlie fan & 6" x 24"Carbon Filter Combo [because of that stanky smell we love so much]
light- 430W HPS Son-Agro Bulb [because apparently this will work throughout the whole plant life; veg and flowering]
some general worries im having are;
That the reflector will work with the ballast.
The 430w bulb will be suitable for both veg and flowering.
That the "hydro farm" version of the lumitek is the american version and not the european one. (in regard to power plug in)
i know that there are probably hundreds of other ways that i can go about this but as long as i havent been steered in the completely wrong direction i would be happy with descent results and a fire free home. any help from the readers would be much appreciated.
