alot of people flush once every 2weeks or so just to stop excess salts from building up in their soil...if your talking about at the end b4 harvest, thats when people flush to get their PPM's down to 200 or below for a cleaner, better burning smoke.

i've also found this a difficult question to answer, especially if you are a newbie, growing bagseed, or a newbie growing some bagseed. i've flushed as little as 2 days before harvest with little problems. there are debates on whether or not you even need to flush. some say a proper dry and cure is what matters, and i'm inclined to agree to a point. weed with nutrients still in the plant are difficult to keep lit, even when dried. until it's cured some, it doesn't taste very good either. therein lies the dilemma when it comes to bagseed, or strains that are representing the opposite phenotypes we expected. like getting an indica dom. x sativa, and the sativa shows through, and takes 12 weeks to flower, while another seed of the same genotype could be 8 weeks.

as for when to flush...check your trichs. determine the buzz ya want. i like my ass kicked so i wait until they are amber. i then flush @ about 25% amber with the rest being mostly cloudy. i then wait up to 7 days to harvest. ya want to give the plant enough time to eat what might be left, but not to where it begins to eat itself.....that's just me though.

plants have stored and stored energy thats ONE of the reasons people flush to force the plant to use its stored energy..one flush wont do that shit lol i use to know this OG grower that flushed the first sign of orange hairs and he would flush for like the last month feeding NO nutrients at all except molasses and he was growing some A+ organic shit..he said it had little if no effect on yield which im not so sure about but it couldnt make that big of a difference..but the smoke was super clean
