How are you so sure of that? Thanks hotrodharley! Sadly, the Seedsman US-branch is out of all things Harlequin and has been for some time.
Wizzlebiz, They may have been out of stock and gave me leftovers. All I know is that not one of the 7 that germinated was Harlequin.
Growers Choice has them in stock but I balked using a card when they asked for account and routing numbers. Thanks hotrodharley! Sadly, the Seedsman US-branch is out of all things Harlequin and has been for some time.

The resulting plants varied greatly in height, leaf morphology, lateral branch count, flower density, smell and of course taste. I'd find it hard to believe that its the result of phenotypic variation in Harlequin. Also, they all went into flower at week four. How are you so sure of that?
What you are experiencing is pheno variety. No 2 plants from seed will be the same. The resulting plants varied greatly in height, leaf morphology, lateral branch count, flower density, smell and of course taste. Looks like they accept Zelle payment too.Growers Choice has them in stock but I balked using a card when they asked for account and routing numbers.
You're right. I can't guarantee that it's not a result of phenos, the same as you can't guarantee that it is a result of phenos. I made a claim based on my knowledge of cannabis genetics. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe PSB was wrong. Either way, I'm looking elsewhere for my seeds. My point is you are claiming something that you cannot possibly guarantee.
Balls. My claims aren't looking so hotI thought it was an auto first time I grew it.
Btw, J. Rocket, where did you source your seeds?for me harlequin photoperiod shows sex strongly around 4 weeks.
Yes but can also be fun and rewarding when you find something exceptionalBalls. My claims aren't looking so hot
Is pheno hunting really so hellish?
I imagine I would need more than 10 seeds for any worthwhile pheno hunting experiment. I'm down for the challenge. Just trying to come to terms with how expensive it would be...Yes but can also be fun and rewarding when you find something exceptional
Just cross your fingers and hope you find something worth while in those 7 that popped.I imagine I would need more than 10 seeds for any worthwhile pheno hunting experiment. I'm down for the challenge. Just trying to come to terms with how expensive it would be...
It scales proportionally. The best of 10 might be as good as the best of 1000, but you won't know until you grow a thousand. You also have to have your grow dialed in to the perfect conditions, which can vary between phenos. You can grow in batches and keep a clone of the best from each batch, but it takes a long time, and frankly, I would get tired of smoking variations of the same thing after a few years.I imagine I would need more than 10 seeds for any worthwhile pheno hunting experiment. I attempted to do that, but I must have been too late. The cuttings went into flower with the rest of the plant. I need to do some research into keeping these plants in vegYou can grow in batches and keep a clone of the best from each batch
How long have you been growing?I attempted to do that, but I must have been too late. The cuttings went into flower with the rest of the plant. I need to do some research into keeping these plants in veg
In total? About a year. So posting here has been a humbling experience. How long have you been growing?
Check out Genetic Supply.I made the novice mistake of ordering from Pacific Seed Bank. I paid for 10 Harlequin seeds and ended up with 3 duds and 7 autos! Does anyone here have experience with a seed bank that sells the real deal? I tried looking for clones as well but to no avail.
Best,
Jason
