it means your plant will go into flower cycle on its own. just switch to 12/12 light at that point.
You can switch them onto 12/12 if you like but you will greatly reduce your yield.

LR2's yield best with 18/6 light period. I've tried 24/0 and 20/4 and not noticed any considerable difference to 18/6.

You will definatley yield poorly if you switch to 12/12.

If you want any more info on Auto's just ask.

That's right just keep them on 18/6 for the whole life cycle.

Are they better?
Well it depends what you want in a plant? LR2's are a pretty strong smoke, but you can get stronger Non Auto strains.

You can't clone Auto's effectively as by the time your clones root they will be about 4 weeks old and will only have 5 weeks left (there is no way to keep and auto in veg)

They are great for perpetual cycles, and you can get alot of them in a small area and still yield reasonably well (they are great for height retricted closet grows).

They are really quick compared to non Autos.

So it's all a question of taste/ preference really. I like them cos I can put ten Lr2's in my veg room and still keep my Non Auto Mothers going (18/6 light cycle).

Some tips for you Re. LR2's,

The bigger the pot the more you will yield. I get 1oz per LR2 in a 2-3 gallon pot but only get 10-14 grams in 1 gallon pots.

They respond really well to Root stimulators in the first 3-4 weeks.

They are almost never done in 9 weeks (In my experience) it's best to chop them at 10 weeks.
