Auto or Photos for beginners?

Getting ready to start my first indoor grow. I am down to ordering some seeds and then finding the right soil/nutrients. I have tried to do some reading on the benefits of auto vs photos but in terms of which is easier for a beginner I am seeing what seems to be mixed reviews. I am not super worried about yield, I dont smoke a ton and mostly doing this for fun. I am mostly concerned with which is easier/more forgiving. I am leaning towards getting some fem autos just to not have to deal with photos, but would love to hear some advice from people who have run both and their thoughts.

More forgiving are photos. Autos lifecycle is shorter than photos so if u make a mistake they dont have much time to recover . They will recover but the yield gonna be smaller than photos with some mistakes.

Can you tell us what you mean by "not having to deal with photos"

If you mean prolonging veg incase your plant is not healthy, that is a good thing...autos don't give you much time to correct mistakes and if you've never grown before, you're probably going to make more than a few mistakes.

If you mean flipping the light schedule to 12/12...that is not very difficult if you have a finger or two.

Did your favorite YouTuber say something to convince you autos are easier?

Definetly photos, autos are not forgiving, any setback will hurt your final product. If you screw something up in veg on a photo, you can correct it before flowering.

photos....this way you can learn the stages of the grow.....from seedling to flower.....
^^^ What he said. After growing photos for some years I gave autos a good run for 2 years. I still like autos but I recently came back to photos for a lot of reasons. Learn the basics first imo.
