Auto pots are they worth trying??

Just thinking of trying another method , as i just use soil but was wondering if anyone has used or tried auto pots and if so is it a better method then soil grow, and as there is no soil does it mean i have got to use hydrponics nutes?

Some seem to love em, i was nothing but unimpresed with mine. Sure it was great in that it had a big res so didnt have to worry about watering em, but no matter how much i "calibrated" the valve thing, seemed every other day i'd open my cab to find it flooded. I ued coco in mine so jut used canna coco nutes i had from my previous coco grows.

you can use any food you would use in soil.

tiptoptoker, when u used them did u have the auto valve to control how much food/water was released into the tray? if u did i think that i will squash this idea because i can`t be arsed trying to stop myself being flooded!! don`t think the downstairs neighbours would be impressed with there (new)trient shower LOL!!
