Hello RIU,
I am new to growing and have ordered some Auto seeds and some Photoperoid seeds, I was inquiring what yalls opinion is on THese two types. I want to Grow for a while and I wanted to know which one is better for the long-term grower. I am planning on doing a Seed run for the auto, so there will be no need on re-ordering unless i want another strain :). Thanks if you guys help me

Autos are good if you have a lack of space or are less experienced. Photos are the way to go, bigger choice of strains, can choose how long to veg, bigger yields.

I did an auto grow for my first and it was great. Pulled a pound in a .8 square meter closet in 60 days. the bud was dank. Since then Ive done photo grows and the bud is always nicer. Love da cheese

To counter what the user above has stated, experience and space has absolutely no bearing over which is better for you, unless changing a timer is deemed a complex thing to do.

The only reason for using auto's in my opinionis if you grow outdoors and want plants going all year round. If you are indoors, then there ismply isn't an argument for autoflowering plants. Photoperiod have a far far better selection of genetics and FAR superior genetics available at that, cost less to grow, take up the same space, cost less to grow in that you can clone them or reveg them, and are no harder to grow unless as said, changing the settings on a timer is a complicated task for you.

Autoflowering seeds are a scam imho. HAving to buy a seed for every plant you grow, oh my, how convenient for the breeders... If you are growing long term as you indicate, then you can spend $10 and you'll have a plant for as long as you are capable of keeping one alive, decades if you want, with auto's, $10 every time you want to grow a plant.

FYI photoperiod take only a very short while longer to finish up than an auto. Photoperiod can be grown 12/12 from seed and as such act almost exactly the same as autoflower and you can have cloned the photo and gotten that ready for flowering in the meantime, can't complain to free plants :) There might be say a week difference in it, but auto's are often not these 45 day wonders that people think they are etc.

And with regard to my timer comment, i was serious, people always say auto's are for the inexperienced, the only difference between an auto and a photoperiod is that with photoperiod you have to put your timer to 12/12 to induce flowering, other than that they're both cannabis plants :)

Changing a timer at the exact right time and getting the exact on off settings is actually a very very hard job to do. Its probably the hardest part of growing!

On a serious note, tip top token has hit the nail on the head, great advice, well done.
