Autoflower Germinating

Once seeds(Autoflowering) have soaked almost 24 hours and planted.well actually covered with another layer of FF Ocean Forest should small cfl be turned on for warmth/growth or leave in dark till seedling is above ground?

Light, peat pots so you can keep track of your beans, and a humidity dome to help them pop. I used to use the paper towel method, this works better. FF Ocean forest is the tits you can put them directly in there. Sometimes I use Light Warrior on the top 1/4 of the pot just to make sure they're not gonna get burned but OF will work just as well. Don't compress the soil, autos like a very, very loose base it helps the roots get monster during the incredibly short veg period.

Have not had much luck with Autos. On my latest grow my 2 auto's are doing very badly and my photoperiod plants doing pretty well considering all the newbie stress I've hit them all with.
Right from the beginning found it hard to germinate them using traditional shot glass or paper towel methods (while my non auto plants germed like a dream using paper towel method).

Just had to plant them, water in and wait in the end after wasting several days in shot glass/paper towel soaking. Be careful they don't get too deep though. Has an AKR auto that got stuck underground, totally sprouted the baby leaf but nowhere to grow, died!

Soak for 24-28 hours in distilled or ph'd water. Plant in pre-watered in soil. Water and mist gently for a few days, seed sprouts.

OK SO ITS MY FIRST TIME GROWING AUTO ND I WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT IT I ALREADY GOT THE SEEDS I GOT SOME DISEL RYDER SEEDS FEMENIZED ND WAT I WANNA KNOW IS WAT SOIL TO USE WAT NUTS ND ANYTHING I NEED TO KNOW LIKE IV HERD OF PEOPLE USING MOLASSES I WOULD WANNA KNOW HOW TO USE IT KUS IVE NEVER DONE SO B4 THIS WOULD BE MY SECOND GROW LAST GROW WOULD OF GOOONE PERFECT BUT I DIDINT KNOW MG HAS WAY TO MUCH NUTS ND IT BURND IT SOO YEA MSG ME PLZ ASAP I WANNA GET THIS PLANT STARTED ASAP ILL POST PICS WHEN I START PLANTINGbongsmilie

I recently started an auto. I germed for 3 days then planted in soil with cfls on. It popped the soil the day after, and another day after that it cracked and sprouted completely out of the seed cap.

I'm doing an auto grow this year, never done one before. Cant start indoors so I'm relying on sun alone. I have quite a few successful grows with regular plants. I dont see why autos will be any different.

You can start a plant in a cupboard with a CFL for upwards of a week. I had a raccoon or something eat all my sprouts I put in my yard last year. Dug every sprout out of the pots and ate them.

Umm they just induce their own flowering as opposed to relying on external stimuli...(the sun)...So they would be fine...but most people start seeds indoors for many reasons like this one ...if you plant the seed outside and then there is a heavy rain your seed is gone...to where? Who knows...most people start the seed and then plant the small plant outside somewhere..not to mention there are lots of things outside that love to eat tiny baby plants...and a snail can kill a sprout easy...just slime right over it---and there goes your poor little plant...I say start inside and then move outside when they are large enough to see on the ground...lol.

Iol very valid points, but you could also start them in buckets vs in the ground that way they are above ground and portable if needed to be moved incase of a storm or whatever.

one of the biggest problems with starting autos outside is the amount of light they get for the first 2 weeks then there doing there veg stage. the first 2-3 weeks is critical for the ending size. so the best way if you can only grow outdoors is to start them inside for 2-3 weeks under 20/4 or 24/0 light then plant them outside when they start budding so they have some size...but for the most part they they will not get as big outside as they do inside because of the hours of light, growing autos outside is about like growing them in 12/12...

Fantastic advice, I get total saturation of the soil then drop my seeds on the surface with just a nudge to cover it. I then use a frosted color plastic bag & rubberband over the outside of the pot to hold in humidity. I then place the pots on the top shelf in a tent that hovers around the low 80's I have had 100% germination rate with my autos this way.
I also add lots of pearlite to keep the soil loose and full of air your roots will thank you -
