Autoflower Lights?

Ok so the main question I have is the light schedule for my auto hindu kush. I currently have two strawberry cough plants going on a 18/6 veg light schedule with a 400 watt mh light, Now at the same time I have 8 auto hindu kush seedlings in my humidity dome with a 24/0 light schedule with two flouro lights which is almost ready to come out I think. Now here is the delema, The autos will be under the 400mh for the whole life cycle at 18/6 because the strawberries will not be ready to go to the hps flowering light till after the auto's are already harvested.

Any comments, questions and ideas are greatly appreciated, this is my first grow and I thought I would start autos because they will be able to be harvested earlier than my strawberries. I have no clue if the autos can grow only under mh and still get a good harvest or if I should switch over to the hps at a certain time but will that harm my strawberries if I do that?

They'll be fine under the MH, but if you can supplement the MH with some red spectrum T-5's or CFL's. If you wish you may also put your auto's under the HPS in 12/12 for the last week or two without risking much yield but will help to bulk them up.

Thats what I did my first grow. I just switched it to HPS when the autos started to show bud, the other plant didn't seem to mind the 20/4 schedule and the HPS instead of MH
after the auto was harvested I flipped to 12/12 and had 4.5 oz dry enough to smoke off one plant.

The mh will suffice for lighting on your autos, but with that sacrifice in spectrum you're going to sacrifice somewhere else. Either in yield, potency, or both. I don't know if you run separate ballasts for your mh and hps but if you do then the best thing you could do is run both lights full time. Plants in veg won't mind the extra red from the HPS and those in flower (like the autos) wouldn't mind the extra blues from the mh. Plus the more light you have the better. I seriously doubt a non-commercial grower could give their plants too much light. Remember, daylight is 10,000 foot candles whereas a 400w hid puts out less than a thousand. If you have to run one or the other, try and pick up maybe a warm white cfl for some extra red spectrum.

Ok, I guess what I will try is putting them into the veg room with the 400mh for a while than hold off til the last two maybe two and a half weeks to switch over to the 400hps light still on at the 18/6. Hopefully that will not hurt the vegging of the strawberries. If anyone thinks that will harm my strawberries or not be enough to get the great yield that would be wanted from the hindu's please tell me i'm wrong.
OH just for some fyi- My strawberries would be put under the hps with about 2 to 2 and a half weeks left in veg.

no dude my plant didn't even stretch with the HPS on in veg. You'll be looking forward to some damn massive plants at the end of the autos.

Thanks Nusky, thats what I will do than and wish me luck on some massive yielding girls. And thank you to everyone else as well for such quick responses.

I suggest you LST your bigger plants at least temporarily so you can get the light closer to the autos.

i will probably just raise the autos up on a table or something to get them closer to the light. I'm still learning and i don't know enough to LST yet, I looked it up but I'm not that skilled yet. Maybe next grow or two.
