YOU won't start the flowering process. The plants will go into flower when they are ready, no light schedule change required. At 16 days, I would guess you will see the start of flowering very soon. Although, in the pic they look really small for over 2 weeks...

I'm new too. My autos, Barneys farm Flower Power, grew fast, topped out at about a foot tall, and are @ about day 70, with maybe a week to go....fwiw. Mine were showing flower around week 2, except one, which went into flower at day 10.

well what are your recomendations on how i should change what i am doing to make my plants grow better faster and stronger im switching to fox farm big bloom fertilizer very soon so should that help please let me know whats up thanks

Yea those plants should be a lot bigger for day 16...please check out the 2 autos i'm growing right now and you will see how far along an auto should be...today is actually day 15 for my plants. yesterday was the 2 week mark....but it's def. posssible to grow under just that light....i wouldn't have to high of expectations for them....i'm running a micro/grow mix with my autos right now...will be changing to micro and bloom once i'm ready to put my photo period plant into flowering...shes my baby...seems your off to a decent start..couple differences between us. as i have a huge CFL light bank and i'm growing hydro....i willl be checking your thread for updates...also i wanted to know if those autos you bought were feminised or not?????

just keep on truckin. Easy on the nutes, ease into them. Make sure you let the soil dry out good before re-watering. I would add some drain holes in the containers if they aren't there now. That will help the soil dry and let you flush out when you get closer to harvest. Letting that soil dry out will help the roots.

Personally, I used a lite mix of veg nutes starting around week 2, maybe 500ppm. Then transitioned to a mix of veg and bloom around week 4 & 5, then one or two doses of 1000ppm of just bloom nutes between weeks 5-7. I've been doing just water the last couple weeks since they are in the home stretch. BTW, they don't seem to absorb much water past week 7... I have different plants, though, this schedule may work for you too.

Are you monitoring your pH on the water and soil?

I'll post some pictures of mine in a few days once they are actually in soil. Sorry to thread raid but I have a question: After I put the seed in the soil ROOT pointed UP? do I water it right after it is planted or do I wait a few hours or a day?

root down! And don't let it get dry. After germ, I plant mine and water them (carefully) at least 2x day. Don't let those babies get dry. My last 3 seeds I planted in 1.5 inch rock wool plugs, surrounded by my soil mix. Those 3 seeds exploded! The rock wool hold the moisture better than soil...

dont actually no the final yeild was smokin at it before it was competly dry but id say at a guess bout half O

Well, generally speaking.. over-watering will not cause discoloration of the leafs. Over-watering usually causes drooping (sometimes severe drooping) of the leafs and stems. Be careful with over-watering because it can lead to root-rot among other diseases and bad things that can harm/kill the cannabis plant.

Generally, as rule of thumb.. I personally wait until the top 1/3rd or so of soil is completely dried out. The further down you go into the soil.. the more moisture there will be left behind. The top layers dry first.. and the evaporation works its way down eventually. But, you don't want to let it go that far.. just wait between each watering.. until the top layer (1/4th inch to 1/3rd of an inch) has dried out.

good luck.

peace.
