I recently purchased some lowryder diesel seeds, and was wondering if anyone has any tips for the grow? (not a rookie grower, just tips on the strain) ; also is it possible to grow outdoors with auto flowers year around? I would think you would have to cover during the cold winter nights.

Autos are not linked to the suns cycles, but remain fixed as to plant requirements for growth. You will need to have temps above 50 (lower the temp, slower the grow) and strong sunlight for 5 hours or so. A greenhouse would be ideal.

As i understand it the diesel ryder grows to be 14 in like the lowryder #2 and from seed to harvest 60 days. I read in high times mag that it wasn't unlikely to get two o's a plant with diesel ryder. Is that true because a couple post on here say that they got a couple grams of good bud a plant.

I got some of those autoflowering seeds with some other seeds that I ordered and I was wondering the same thing. I would imagine that they would just flower a little earlier. I'll have to see.

Yield stats always represent the "best" potential... for marketing purposes. Results always vary. It is possible to achieve the stated yields.

yeah not sure if it was for marketing, just an article. So you get six grow seasons a year?? If so why doesn't everyone grow them. it sounds like the autoflower; most specifically the brand of seeds I purchased, lowryder, is everything anyone would want.

No, with autos if you planted and harvested each crop one after another in the deep south, I think 4 complete grows can be managed. If you start the next grow a bit ahead of the first harvest, you might make it to six, yes. They are quick, and the deep south still gives plenty of sunshine.

Because there is so little growth time having optimal conditions is important. Ideally the autoflowers should be grown May-July. With the summer solstice in the middle of the growth this would maximize the available sun. 2 oz's would be very very hard to achieve unless you had like 58 days of full sun for 15hrs. My crop of easyryder earlier this year was small with only about 40% of the days being sunny

I just started some more easyryders 4 days ago. I'm growing them down here in the South. It is still very hot and sunny. I am aiming for an oz a plant.

I would say pop those diesels ASAP, the days are only getting shorter from here on.

yes sunlight availability always raises or lowers yield. I would suggest sweet 105 for winter grows since 3oz's per plant can be achieved optimally.

Yeah I had four outta five sprout about a week ago. I have never tried growing these little guys. from what i have read, you just put them in good soil and don't fertilize (or very lightly) and they do all the work. I have 5 more I'm going to sow here in the next day or two. I had some problems earlier this year with some bud rot on my LSD, do you have this problem with dieselryder cause it can take a toll on them

From my experience and from a number of grow journals, they are pretty hardy. Don't be afraid to give full strength fertilizer. Remember with such a short grow time mistakes and problems must be kept to a minimum.

Sweet 105 originates from greenhouse seeds.

Never start ur ferts full strength.. on any plant. Start 1/4 strength and work ur way up.

Think of it like doing exercise to build ur body up. You don't start the first day doing 100 pushups at a clip. You start slow and work ur way up....... same thing here.

Thanks man. I meant how old should the plant be or how tall should it be before I can start adding nutes?? They grow fast and short so I don"t know how to judge them? Is their such thing as a winter strain of cannabis; A plant that would do well in the winter months, in the deep south??
