automatically awesome?

So granted I know that genetics provide the overall potential of a plant, but if I get an amazing strain of seeds, say maybe like "jack herer", does that mean If I can make it to harvest I'll have cannabis cup quality bud? Or at least ball park? And if not how would I be able to find out the best way to grow a certain strain? Such as what nutes, medium, and whatnot to get as close to full potential as possible?

The short answer is no unfortunately. Just making it to the finish line doesnt ensure that youll have remarkably great marijuana. You should definitely have something that is smokable and that will get you a buzz though. Growing something that the majority of regular smokers would regard as truly impressive takes some time and effort with checking out different strains and breeders and fine tuning your grow methods/environment etc.

Potential being the key word.
