What's a normal room size for this type of light. Also how do I cool the bulb off so it cools off the heat that will rise.

its about 4' x 4' (roughly) depending on the height of your light and the footprint, a cooltube will allow you to lower the light but reduces the footprint.
the footprint is where the light lands
see the green where the light lands in the pic above, thats the footprint. which says 4' x4' so its about this.
have you got good air circulation ? fans ? open windows etc ?

Get a glass covered fixture...hook it up to an inline fan for cooling if you can set up that way.

I don't think the light I bought has a glass cover. It has adjust wings and a light diffuser but I'm getting a decent powered fan to help

Those kits aren't the best...hope it works out for you...
I bought an uncovered light years ago...one grow and I dumped it
Covered, air cooled is so much nicer, easier to keep temps. controlled.
You'll find out...good luck.

600w= 5ftx3ft the actual foot print is rectangular
and many growers(me included ) make this mistake
4x4 is OK but more suitable for a 400w
see, .. the height gives you the correct footprint
and at 66k lumens about 8 inches above the tips
= 5'x3' ..ensure you have good heat extraction and aim
for 9 plants in 3 usgallon pots to 3 feet(1m) high in 90 days

didnt know this but it makes sense the bulbs are longer than wide.

set it up without the plants.
lights on, fans on etc etc and test the temps and humidity before you start. you'll still need to adjust when they grow but you'll get a rough idea whats right and whats not.

I've had a 600 in a 3x3 with no problems but I did use an air cooled hood n a 400+cfm fan. Don't buy grow kits they're always lacking in some component.
