I THOUGHT AVID WAS A ONE SHOT, KILL EM ALL DEAL. I GOT MITES BAD. I'VE BEEN SPRAYING WITH DISH SOAP AND HAVE A PEST STRIP IN THE ROOM. STILL HAVE MITES. SO TOO GET RID OF THEM I GOT AVID.

I MIXED ABOUT 5 - 8 DROPS IN A 900ML SPRAY BOTTLE TO MIX IT UP, THEN POURED THAT INTO A CUP AND DUNKED ALL MY CLONES INTO THE CUP. THEN I SPRAYED ALL MY VEG PLANTS BY HOLDING THEM UP AND SPRAYING FROM THE BOTTOM, THEN TOP.

TODAY I GO LOOK AND WHAT DO I SEE ON THE FIRST LEAF I TURN OVER ??????

LOTS OF BLACK DOTS FOR SURE, BUT THERE WHERE 3 MITES RUNNING AROURND THE LEAF. AND THAT WAS FROM ONE OF THE DUNKED ONES.

DOES IT TAKE A WHILE FOR THEM TO DIE OR WHAT?
DID I NOT MIX IT STRONG ENOUGH ?

ANY FEEDBACK WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. :wall:

Didn't see your post before, or I would have answered sooner. Take a look at the label and how it works:
The residual effect of AVID is based on the translaminar movement of its active ingredient, abamectin. Following application to the leaf surface, abamectin moves through the cuticle and epidermis and enters the mesophyll layer of leaves. In the mesophyll layer, a reservior of active ingredient forms. Insects that consume the leaves or feed in the mesophyll ingest the saved abamectin. Within hours, they stop feeding and die within two to four days.

from the manufacturer's site: http://www.syngentaprofessionalproducts.com/prodrender/index.aspx?nav=RESIDUAL&ProdID=733&ProdNM=Avid

It takes a while to kill em, and there is always the possibility that your population may be resistant to Avid. I rotate Forbid, Floramite, Shuttle and Avid and I have no mites. Spray or dip with one chemical as clones, spray with another right before going to flower, use another for next round of clones, repeat, etc...

Good luck, hope it works out for ya. Mites suck, literally! :-o

Hi there boxorain!
I also used avid 4 days ago and today I found mites.
I went ahead and sprayed the plants again, this reallly good.
Wish me luck, I also spray with neem but it burns the plants even in the dark! I have safer soap but will try Forbid rotation.

My room is so clean but perhaps I will bleach it out today (Plants outside)
