This is my first time grow/journal from two clones that I got at a local collective. I picked up a Skywalker clone, and a Mendo Purps clone a month ago. Both seemed very healthy and well rooted, which is why I chose them. Although I got started a little late in the season, the climate here stays warm through Oct. I did quite a bit of research prior to starting this grow, and I'm glad I did. I feel a little bit better prepared for this new adventure. One thing I knew from the begining is that I wanted to do a full organic grow without any harsh chemicals.
I read nothing but positive reviews about BMO (Blue Mountain Organics) nutrients so I took the plunge and decided to give their stuff a try. Their complete grow kit can be purchased on EBay for about $30 shipped. They ship really fast, have clear directions on the bottle, and you can find feeding schedules online. I am also using Fox Farms Ocean Forrest soil. Since the FFOF is packed with organic nutes, I did not use any BMO products until the third watering. I have only used distilled water because the tap water in my area tends to be quite "hard".
When I first picked up my clones they were already well rooted in rockwool cubes. I stuck them directly into 3.4 gallon pots filled with FFOF soil. I kept both ladies indoors, under a Daylight spectrum 100 watt cfl, for 19 hours a day. During the second week, I started putting them under direct sunlight for 2 hours a day to harden them off. After 3 days of that, I was leaving them in the sunlight for 4 hours, then 6, then as long as I could. My yard gets sunlight from around 7:20am to 6:00pm where the plants are now. I also did a little early LST (low stress training) to create more budsites.
After 3 weeks from the time I brought these ladies home they were no longer under the cfl or brought indoors at night. I undid the LST so they could expand a bit. At night I put them in a cool dark area on my side yard so they can get 12 hours of complete darkness. I put them back out every morning before work. The plants almost doubled in size after the first feeding of the BMO Super Plant Tonic. Their Grow it Green was next and it does exactly what it says, grows it GREEN. These plants sit directy in 90+ degree sunlight with no issues at all. I recently switched to the BMO Flower Power and they began showing pre-flowers this weekend. I will keep this journal updated since I know there are a few people who would like to see some results from BMO nutes.
I am very happy with my progress thus far and I can't wait to see the final outcome. I have never grown a plant in my life but, I came the conclusion that with a little reading, a little effort, and a lot of love, anyone can grow their own. I contribute my sucess up to this point to reading online before starting my grow, and BMO products. My total investment is $20 for clones, $30 for nutes, $0 for pots, $16 for soil, $12 for Daylight CFL bulbs, and $10 for both light reflectors.
Thanks for reading, here's the pics....
