ballast problem

i have a 1000 w greenhouse ballest from htg and it worked fine the first grow. now i am 3 wks. in to the second and the light comes on for a little bit then goes off then comes back on. what is the problem. should i turn it off till i get a new one i can get one today or should i let it keep turning on and off till i get the new one

Mine wont burn hortilux eyes,everybody buying these digitals are getting nothing but junk and problems that I dont need.If these ushio bulbs dont fix my problem, Im junking these two 600s I have and go back to my sun systems magnetic ballest.My hydro store still recommends magnetic ballest due to all the problems they have encountered with this junk..peace

Mine would run about two or three minutes and as soon as I walked off it would shut down,Ive replaced the bulb with ushio opti red and its running fine so far

Im just lucky that Ive been growing a long time and have extra ballest and bulbs.Most people dont have all this shit

Heres what hydro wholesale told me to do,go buy a cheap bulb at home depot and see if its the bulb,that might be your way of seeing if its the bulb or the ballast.I think thats your only recource today,you dont want to hermie your ladies.If your lights stop and you dont have the cash for a new cheap bulb you need to at least put some fluorecents on them...Peace

yea u need to immediatly get some floro's goin or somthin till u can hurry up and get ur new bulb/ballast . thats just freakin out the plants....... i just had a 1000 doing the same thing and i got lucky and it was just the bulb. (i use magnetic) GOOD LUCK!
