Ballast VS Dimmable Ballast Help

Hello,
I am currently looking forward to purchase a 400w Ballast kit.
The first kit is a regular ballast and second one is a dimmable ballast.
May I please have your opinion on which ballast is the best?
Which one last longer and performs better?

What do you mean by option? I can put that 400 watt light at 200 watt??? Won't that make my 400 watt bulb burn faster?

By options i mean like lets say you have a heat wave were you live and your room gets too hot you could dim it down, or you could dim it down to start plants and increase it as they get bigger. I think it would prolly be better on the bulb to be dimmed down so it might last longer. jmo

your bulbs dont last longer they burn out quicker:( why pay that much for a dimable. plus ive seen more magnetic ballast last years and dozens of digital ballast
go back the the local grow shop, I think reliable is better than options.

That i couldnt tell you, i dont own either of the 2 descrided, but i plan on ordering a 1000w dimmable off of ebay. so i guess it just depends on what you want to do.

thanks for ur help i got the dimmable it already got here .
got here 2 days after ordering payed 180 for everything 400 watt convertible hps and mh
