Balls or too early?

I still cannot see well enough to know if there is the little hair coming out to make this a female. But I can make out the ball.

Does this little ball mean that it is a male, or is it still too early to tell?

I am sorry that it is not the best pic, I just have a reg digital camera and this was the best that I could do. I used a magnifying lens but still couldn't see much better than this pic shows.



If you follow the stalk up to the middle, right by the leaf that goes out of the screen is where it is.

Thanks guys. This gives me some hope. I was pretty bummed to think that I have to knock this down. At least now there si a chance.

Its early but im going to say balls, its there and it doesnt have a hair yet usually isnt a good sign, keep watching it, if it starts to raise off the node its a dude, ladies like to show some hair pretty soon.
