Bamboo activated chargoal

Hello,
my friend recommended me to try bamboo activated chargoal to make filters.
Do anyone have experience with that chargoal?
If yes, how did it work out?

No experience with chargoal. Much less bamboo activated.
I wouldn't buy those on ebay.

coal based charcoal is generally more effective.

i got 100oz of premium activated charcoal on amazon for 24.00. still need to order another 100oz, as i ran a little short in my DIY filter (about 25oz shy).

aslo, make sure you rinse off the charcoal before using. its a little dusty.

they also make charcoal out of coconut shells. not sure if it works any better, but for searching, it gets high remarks.
