bathroom growroom??

I love this site.. just found it.. I am a beginner and wanted to start slow and cheap. And, I was thinking about using my spare bathroom as a grow room. It already has an exhaust fan and air conditioning vent on the ceiling. I would be using the bathtub for the grow area( about 4 x 2). The shower rod can be moved directly over the grow area to assist with the lighting(cfl). It seams like a logical place to put it. Any opinions or advice will be appreciated.

Cool, if you can afford to give up the bathroom sounds like a great spot and most of what you need is there. I'd be careful hanging anything on that rod though if it's not fixed to the wall. Those bars that go on with springs/pressure tend to come off or slip with too much weight.

yup! started out in the bathroom...I did have to take the toilet out but then again the place isn't habitable anyways. after some experimenting I ended up just painting the walls flat white and it worked well for quite a while.

Are some of the nutes and shit hard on plumbing.
I think I heard something like that.
Might want to be carefull what you dump in your pipes and ground water.
Or not. lol

In large amounts there could be some build up over time but I doubt a small bathroom grow would be anything to worry about. I'm sure there have been more nasties dumped in those pipes than some nutes to grow mj :)

i dont know about pluming, but i know lots of the shit is poison for different species of animals. i pour my runoff down the drain, just keep your pets and stuff away from the many chemicals youll collect, and dont leave buckets of run off or mixed nutrients where animals or kids can get at them

My first thought: Wow this is the best area ever because you can drop a deuce while spending time with your plants. Then I read you're taking out the toilet :(

That should work great for a first grow. You will have no problem keeping temps in check with CFLs. A simple desk fan blowing at them should do.

Great feedback! I don't have kids or pets to worry about with it. I plan to use the toilet to hold the fan ;). Next, I need to find a good seed bank with good beginner seeds.

What about intake/exhaust? I have a grow in the bathroom with cactus and reg plants. No bud its in a tent but temps get very high in bathroom that small tree hats why I did a 4x4 tent my temps in bathroom hit 120 at one time with a six

the air conditioning in the summer should keep the temps stable in the next few months with the exhaust fan but I don't know if the fan is strong enough for 3-4 plants. Presently, I'm trying to germinate 20 year old seeds without any luck.
