Been a while, Gotta little problem, need a little help!

Hello everybody Its been a while since my last grow with the 400hps. I think its still in my sig lol. ANyway I finally decided to get around to another grow. Well actually I tried and it got cut short due to the weather/attic temp was affecting the closet and I was having to move too much air, keeping it way too dry and too uneven in temps really cold air plus hot space plus lots of moving wind to keep it cool it just didnt go as well as my previous grow so I cut it short after 3 weeks.

I have i think 5 blackjacks, and 6 good bagseeds in this grow.
I moved the 400hps to the unused bathroom.
I keep containers of water in the bathroom open I use to water with.

I havent used ANY nutes yet. Its only been 12 days or so probably.
2 weeks maybe, Im using fa-fard organic soil this time around instead of all hempy/perlite grow.

My main problem I have no taxes yet So I cant get the 400mh conversion bulb yet for the bathroom, And I cant get the proper exhaust fans for the cool tube, So I dont have to keep this big boxfan moving air all the time during the veggging.

Also, the old walk in closet I used before for my entire grow, Is being converted into a 1000W cooltubed hps flower room while the 400hps will be using the mh conversion bulb in the bathroom for vegging.(having to use the hps bulb right now).

I have floranova bloom, I do the 1 bottle lucas formula thing lol
But I have NOT used any nutes yet this time. My leaves
are wanting to get yellow and even some of the main
leaves seem to be doing it, I cant keep humidity in the
veg room high because of the box fan and leavin the door
open a little. I will fix this when I get tax money with the right
fans and there wont be all this air flow keeping humidity down.

Should I add some nute? Maybe a little next water?

Im thinking nitrogen based on the sticky.....

So im thinking maybe I'll do 1ml of FNbloom to
a gallon and water them again tomorrow..
They keep gettin worse, I hope it gets better after that.

You need to bring that light down, because they're already stretching quite a bit. Also, those leaves look a little 'twisty' on some of those, indicating a PH problem. Have you been monitoring the PH of the water you add? The soil?


I just noticed that you don't have a reflector on that light. Holy crap, you're wasting half the output. In that case, bring that thing down to about 15", and make sure it's not too hot at the tops of the plants. Keep a light breeze on them and up the lighting,or else you're going to end up with some weak, stretched out plants.

Also...no nutes. They haven't even come close to depleting that soil yet, so don't add anything til they're at least 10 days older and twice as big(more like 4X as big, accounting for width).

Well that small space enclosed in the bathtub, Withthe top over it, Shouldnt be too much area for light to escape. I have the light as close to them as I can go without burning. And I know about stretching and all that Im more worried about the leaves than the light stretching at this moment. I'll control the stretch when I have the right fans for this new vegging setup and the MH bulb for the HPS ballast. 0ther than that the light has to stay where its at until I get 'door closed' heat under control. And until a tax form gets here thats not happening. But I feel like I can fix the yellow/twisty leaf thing before all that. I'll check PH again also thanks for replying

Ok, Added a little bit of floranova bloom. 1/2 tsp for a half gallon.

Next day they are looking MUCH better. Perked up good
and the leaves already beefed up. Lets hope A little
nute every 3rd water can keep it straight for now

Perhaps what you aren't taking into consideration, is the 'Inverse Square Law' that applies to light. For example..at 1' foot distance, light loses half of it's intensity, and at 2 feet it lose 4X, at 3' it's loses 8X, etc.....All that light that you think is 'captured' and reflected back, is useless. By the time the reflected light reaches the plants, it's about as intense as holding a Bic lighter next to them.LOL So, like i said, you are losing over half of your output. If you only have enough money to invest in one thing, invest in a reflector, because if those plants start growing like they're supposed to grow, they'll be so stretched out that you'll wish you did. Sorry if it sounds like I'm preaching, I'm just trying to emphasize how important light is. If you're not over that 3000 lumens per square foot, you're not getting any weed.LOL Okay not really, but the difference between having only 2500 lumens, and 3500 lumens, is huge. You might get 1/4 oz with 2500, and with 3500 you could expect at least 4X as much. You're probably somewhere around 1700-2000 lumens right now, just in case you were wondering.

Alright, Well I did get the w2 . So its all good Im looking at vortex blowers for my flowering room, I made a big ass reflector thats sweet for the 1000 watt setup Im doing.... Maybe Ill make another one for the vegging chamber (400w). And from what ive heard if you can contain most of the light is better than having it escape into nomans land. But the thought of doing a reflector for the 400w, Had crossed my mind, So its goin on the list of things to do this coming week. I also gotta get crackin on another cooltube for the 1000 watt light that will serve as the dedicated flowering light. ....and yes, You sound like reverend dickweed once or twice, But im cool with that I appreciate all insight as long

And the plants are still looking perky, Some of the yellowing from before but a far sight better than they were thats for sure I actually felt a little relieved to see they didnt get worse

They're definately looking better. I think you did the right thing, although the rule of thumb is no nutes for three weeks, that usually applies more to soil that has nutes in it already - so good job, figuring it out!

They look much better now.
