So yesterday was my first feed with cyco swell


System
4x20l buckets with a 55l Rez total 75l rdwc
315w CMH + hlg240 led
6in inline with carbon filter.
Cyco nutrients full line pretty much.

Daytime temps range from 22-26c
Night from 16-20c
Water temp stable 18c
Tap water @55ppm
Ph 5.8
500scale ppm is 530

First feed with P and one of 4 Gelato 41s reacted with this.

I'm kinda leaning on the P was too hot
I added more water and reduced ppms for the time being.20210622_163715.jpg

It's been a week do they still look like that?
Your temps are good, tap water and PH also. 530 on the 500 scale isn't very hot.
I've never used the Cyco line just the PH adjusters and the uptake and silicon.
I don't know what caused that burn but did you get any relief at lower PPMs?

So I lowered the ppms by 50 and it stopped the burn. Raised my lights a little.

I originally fed with cycos swell which is P heavy so I'm assuming it was too much too quick and I ended up getting a nutrient lock out.

Strange that it all happened overnight. Damage is done but the plant looks to be doing fine.

Starting to get some swell happening and the smell is intense. Looking forward to the next few weeks watching the magic happen.

I was feeding at 700 in veg but come flower and they didn't want the higher ppms. I'd rather not push them to burn and just go off how they feed.

Cyco might have plant growth regulators, if your not concerned about your health dont worry about it, but if you are from what I understand, this is a highly carcinogenic substance and is banned in most countries.

When did you lift them? It takes at least 5 days to see if it helped or not and the damage is done, it wont disappear, you can only stop it spreading further. If it is calcium than you will see the “dots” also on the lower tops of the plant. Since it seems to be localy situated only on the highest tops, than I would say the light is the culprit…

I was thinking that but wasn't so sure. It's on a lot of the uppers but not on all of them. It's a smoking light burn for a 240 watt HLG and a 315 CMH unless they were 12-18 inches above them. I run 240 watt meanwell and as long as the boards are 24 inches plus above the plants they're good in flower. Still though, something caused it.

Not really strange that it happened overnight. I can usually see changes in my system in 6 hours or so if I make a big adjustment.
I do have one suggestion for you though. Did you know that Cyco uses the 700 scale in their feedcharts? You reported your PPMs in 500 and that's fine but you have to switch your PPM pen to the 700 scale to mix the Cyco nutes or you'll be off on their PPM numbers.
There is one other thing. After checking the article @TintEastwood posted; I'm wondering how often you change your reservoir?

I lifted the lights when I saw the plants that day and I have kept them higher since then.

I haven't actually read the article things have been busy here for the last 2 days. I'll have a read now.

I do a change once every fortnight. I add back every 2 days and top up with nutes and do my adjustments.

As for the cyco feed chart I have never really followed it to a tee. I use everything of theirs at half strength and if I followed cycos feeds I would have burnt the buds off my girls from day one.

The intensity of the light that gave me the issues. My other plannts are stunning and have no issues whatsoever, swell has started and I'm looking forward to seeing the next phase of my grow.
