Beginning of Outdoor Grow 2009(Pics)

This is my outdoor grow in what i think to be a good secluded spot...the baby's are just over a week and a half old since they popped out of the soil....These are just bag seed but i hope to do good, I started out with 33 plants in the cups....ended up with 23 after two nights outdoor...some died some got eaten, after a week outdoors there is 19 left....but now my question is if i create lets say a tarp system to try and force them into 12-12 is it possible or do the rays still get through??? i plan on camouflaging the tarp to keep it unnoticeable but i wanted some feedback before going to attempt it.....here's some pics to show you what I'm working with and if you can give any +/- feedback I'd appreciate it much.

I don't know about that, Fried. I'm not sure there's that much difference between a late season grow and going SOG indoors with no veg time. Sure the yield will be alot smaller, but its all smokable. I've still got autos breaking soil outside (home made seeds, had a shitload). As far as forcing them to flower, by the time they are ready to even think about it, mother nature will take care of it for you.

I hear what your saying. I'm kicking myself for not planting more non-autos back in June. As it is I only have one Purple Lady out there.

i think that they're doing jus fine theyve ben out there for only two weeks and are starting on their fourth node obviously the yield is going to be lower but thats not the point its the thrill of the grow!....Also i'm in the midwest and our weather has been retarded.... In June the weather was around 60 to 70 degrees in the day.... At night it was below 55 degrees and it was unhealthy for the plant. knowing that thats why we waited till later

if your going to use a tarp to force them into 12/12... use black plastics attatched to burlap...you can attach it with a light adhesive in the middle and zip ties around the edge. You can then interweave twigs, branches, and other misc. forest items on the burlap side(the side that sticks up). You can then use grading stakes(available at home depot) placed in and around your grow...the stakes will keep the cover off your plants....sorry if it sounds complicated but you want to COMPLEELY block the light and get a good camo job goin....happy growin and good luck...

ya i already knew that i was going to have to use some sort of tarp system i still have to see where the sun rises and sets so i can know where to place the tarp i was wondering can i wrap a tarp around it somehow or can i jus put it around some trees to make sure that it gets 12/12?? thanks for your comment brentman!

you will want to cover them as close to the ground as possible( at least so the edges are sealed)..you can even bury one end so you can just flap it open when you want the light and recover for dark...use rocks, placed randomly around the tarp, to hold it down....

well we dropped the seeds in water 4 24 hrs, put them in moist paper towels for two to three days as soon as they sprouted we put them in cups..to pots...to the native soil that we mixed peat moss with the vegitation around grows very nicely and the soil is so rich i could almost sell it! wel planted them about 5inches into the ground the roots were pretty long we have 19 plants left out of 30 due to chipmunks deer etc...but thank you and good luck on your outdoor grow as well

oh ok i gotcha now man.you should get a few cloves of garlic cut them up into chunks and scatter them around your plants.i did that and it worked out real nicely.fast easy cheap way of eliminating animals.im guessing by them time u go to harvest they'll probably be about 5 or 6 inches.but i could be wrong though.i have my jugs labled witht the water.you should get some fox farm liquid nutrients.you'll have enough for this year and the following year as well more then likely.just 2tsp u mix of a gallon of watter and mine was growing more leaves faster then i could count.i guarantee youll see a faster pickup.its about $13.i got mine at a local hydroponics store

ya thats what its all about putting them somewhere where no normal person will want to wander you will have to put up with a couple of spider nests, tics, jiggers, bees poision oak and ivy, so if someone would want our patch they would not get it for free! good job good to know that someone elses is going out of their own person saftey to grow the plant they love so much as well as i do.:joint:= :peace:
