Behind the filter on the water pump

I cleaned my aerogarden for the first time last night. It took the filter off of the pump to clean and noticed that there is a dial with like 1-5 on it. It was set on 2, so I left it. Does anyone know what this is for? Is it for pump speed? Does it matter? thanks

not sure, i've seen it when cleaning my ag but i didn't change it.

Yes... it is for the water flow speed. the higher you turn it, the faster the water flows.

Awesome thanks for the response, I was wondering the same thing, I figured thats what it was, but I wasn't sure.
