Best 400 Watt Bulb to use for vegging?

Hello,

I am looking for some recommendations on what bulb to use for vegging. I plan on purchasing one today, and putting the bulb I am using now away to keep as a backup for when the new one fails.

I have a 400 Watt HPS ballast, that runs MH conversion bulbs.

This is the light I am using now, anyone know if it's any good?

I was considering doing CMH, but the best CMH bulb I have been able to find is this one:

Does the addition of the extra spectrum make up for the loss of lumens?

Does it make a difference in veg? I plan on using two 600 Watt Eye Hortilux bulbs for flower, and already have 600 watt digital ballasts so I can't use CMH for flowering. However my 400 watt ballast is a standard type that can be used with CMH bulbs.

the cri is 92, cri means colour rendering index, have a look into that

Hmm, read a few articles about CRI with very different opinions... seems some claim low CRI is best while others feel high CRI is best.

Which opinion should I believe?

i would not buy that bulb
dont buy cheap..........U will regret it dude !!!!

Buy Eye Hortilux bulbs!!!
400w is 55000 lumens
so its yer choice!!!!
I dont use MH................HPS all the way Veg and Flower.
And look @ my results!!!

According to everything I have been able to find the Eye Hortilux Metal Ace Conversion Bulb - 400W is the only one that will work with my 400 Watt HPS ballast, and it only emits 36,600 lumens. As I can not afford a new ballast at the moment I need to find something that works with the setup I already have in place.

I am using two 88,000 lumen Eye Hortilux Super HPS 600 Watt bulbs for flower.

ok....So if it was me..........I would just get rid of the MH setup and go with all HPS!!

if you think your set where you are with what you got and thats all you need, fine, you stick with that, but for people who want to grow some decent stuff and are actually in the 21st century then you shouldn't put them off when you haven't actually tried something for yourself.
