I hate those newbie posts that go something like:
"What's the best type to grow and will I get 26oz out of 5 plants?"
So, before I go on to ask my question, I will point out that I know there many variables and, even with a precise and extensive description of every aspect of a grow room, it is still not possible to start making predictions about yields and potency.
I've only grown from clone cuttings.
At first buying cuttings, and now taking cuttings from my own plants (which were also grown from cuttings) during the last week of VEGETATIVE 18/6 photoperiod.
Now I want to try some different strains. I want to grow from seed.
WHAT STRAIN WOULD BE BEST TO GROW FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTED:
1- High Yield. This is priority number one
Everyone wants potency but I would sacrifice a little potency for higher yield. I am not a connoisseur who is willing to accept half the weight in yield for super strength buds.
2-Easy to grow I don't want one of the challenging to grow strains.
3-Short Growing period I want a quick turnover.
4- Short to Medium plant Indoor, in tent, limited space.
5-Skunk Smell The stronger the smell, the better.
6 - Visually different. Nearly all of the available weed (in the small town North of England where I live) is Superskunk or Northern Lights.
It's very green. Having some that still had the firm buds and potent aroma BUT with purple or red colouring the buds, would be an excellent selling point.
Number 6 is the least important. I wouldn't sacrifice any of the yield OR potency in order to get the colour
BUT I would pay a little more for the seeds or alter my growing technique to cause a dark cycle temperature drop.
I would even consider a taller plant or longer flowering period - but only by a little.

HOW I GROW....
PROPAGATOR under T5 6400K (wattage varies)
18/6 light cycle.
WATER Mix rain EC0.1 with tap 0.5 to get EC 0.2 as BASELINE
Then add -
CANNA RHIZOTONIC (4ml per litre)
CANNA AQUA VEGA A & B , equal parts, until EC 0.6
This is for soakng the rockwool rooting cubes AND using as first feed.

Fan speed controller
