I don't have a hydrometer or a humidity reader so what is the best way to go about harvesting and curing your plants? need help asap as my plants are about ready to come down starting next week...

You're taking a big risk without knowing the amount of moisture in the jar, but I did it and it worked fine for me. Let the buds dry somewhere cool but not dry... if the RH is too high, put them in a paper bag for a few days. When the outside of the bud feels dry and the inside isn't too wet, put them in the jar and check them after 6 hours. Feel the buds... if you know what cured buds should feel like, this isn't too hard. If they haven't sweat much and they're still about as dry as they were when you put them in, keep it closed and check in another 6 hours. Just keep feeling the buds and it's pretty easy to guesstimate IMO when to close and open the jar.

Old school method, cut hang dry, 3-7 days depends on humidity,

When stems r snapping, they r ready for jars and burping. There is humidity inside the bud that will work its way out and rehydrate the outer parts of the bud again. Your bud will seem wet again. Burping daily if not more at first.

Paper bag method, same as above only they go into paper bags a little eatlier thrn stems snapping. Dont fully seal the bag. Crumple the top but allow a little airflow. 2 ti.es a day go and shake the buds around, airflow, makes a nice bud shape as well. Then jar and burp.

There's one alternative... I've just tried it on a sample from my last harvest. I don't think I'd do this every time, but it has it's pros/cons. Water curing. You submerge the plant in water, and change the water every 12hrs at first, eventually every 24hrs....for 4-7 days, or until the water is completely clear. Then dry it out, only takes 24-48hrs, and jar it up.

I will say this, it definitely changes the look of the bud compared to traditional air curing. My sample seems to be darker than traditionally cured bud. It's just as mellow if not smoother, and the scent is more nuanced. Potency is exactly the same.

I have never heard of water curing. Very interesting. Can you begin that process the last 3 or 4 days of flushing

You dont need any of that fancy crap. Here is what I do and I get a prefect dry and cure each time. Remember to KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. When I harvest I cut the plant at the base, trim off all the large fan leafs leaving all the sugar leafs on the plant. I then hang them to dry in my grow space in total dark with a little air circulation until the stems snap and the outside of the buds feel dry. This should take a few days to a week the slower the better but too slow will grow mold. I then do all the trimming and jar the buds right way. Open them once a day and left them breath for about 20 minutes then re seal.
