Best Way to Harvest and Cure

Wonder what people out there think is the best way to harvest their buds, for the best taste, aroma and density? How do you harvest you bud? In the dark? Do you flush? Do you hang the whole plant upside down or cut branches and hang? Do you trim wet or dry and why? How long do you let her dry? And what you think the best cure is? Any info welcome!

I follow the stickies in Harvest and Curing…both on when to cut and how to jar cure. Great advice.

Ideally, I hang the whole plant and do a preliminary trim, then dry for 7-10 days and do a finer manicure. Jar cure 6-8 weeks according to the sticky. The result is spectacular bud.

No need for me to flush, as my plants stop taking nutes on their own three weeks before the end (I'm hydro, so I know).

Let me spell it out for you. What Krypto is referring to, is "The Harvesting and Curing Forum" (from back on The Grow Room page). Harvesting and Curing is down at about tenth place on the list of forums - there are many, many more (trust me!).

General Marijuana Growing is only the first forum on The Grow Room page (I really think a lot of people never look any further). Each of the other "growing" forums specializes in a certain aspect of growing, and you will surely get more specialized advice if you go to a specialized forum!

I don't know how many times I have just bitten my lip, instead of responding "Go to the right forum you fricking moron". I have to give Krypto his just deserts - he was much more diplomatic than I.

Thanks beblunted, you are exactly right! I posted in the hasrvest and curing forum last week with no responses because it there is no traffic. When people reply in here within minutes. Not an idiot, just seeking knowledge. Don't know why people need to bash on a weed forum like chill smoke one it is a growing website. Go on here for knowledge, not to start drama.

I have ran out of space in my grow area to hang my branches any longer. I now use the dry net method. I also use a trimmer, as I don't have 2 days to trim 12 monster plants any longer. after mine are trimmed they go in my nets (I use 3 - 6 level nets) they let dry for about 3-4 days in 75* 50-60% rh room (total darkness). then jarred when the outsides are crispy, but not breaking apart. placed in 1/2 gallon mason jars (about 36 of them) also with their each rh meter and burped down to a stable 55-57% rh. wait 2-3 weeks, then its placed into my rotation for my patients. pure dankness in the end.

I flush the last week. forgot to add.

I usually do a fan leaf trim then hang the entire plant upside down to dry, 3 days. Then I do a light trim, remove flowers and put into paper bags, 2 days, tumbling the bags every 6 hours or so. I don't usually do a super close trim, as I only grow for myself, and I vape, so I use all plant material that has trichs. Next, I put it into 1-2L mason jars, and recently have been adding 62% Boveda packs to each jar.

do you find if you don't take off the fan leaves when harvesting they can leave a chlorophyll taste? And does anyone leave in dark period for 24hr before chop? Chop in the dark or light? And any experience with chopping the tops first and leaving the rest like the bottom to fatten up a bit more? And how long do people burp the jars for first week, second week ext. Want the beat taste possible! Been expirmenting lately..tryin new things to tweak to perfection! Anyone find a did between cutting the whole plant down, vs. cutting managable peices to hang?
