As for trimming, it seems that most just go with the standard scissors and sanity test. But I've seen the Aardvark trimming tool in action and it is beyond effecient. It runs pretty high up there, ($200 or even much higher) but after trimming by hand you really feel the end of an accomplishment with only the final test of patience and proper curing remaining.
