Better buds with 600w, vs 1000s????

So, I’ve been growing Master Cush in soil, in two separate rooms, both have been watered and fed the same on the same days. The only difference is that one has been under brand new 600w with hoods, the other room at least one year old 1000w without hoods. I would have thought that the ones in the room with the 1000s would end up with way bigger buds! Instead I got the complete opposite the ones under the 600s ended up with nice big buds. The plants under the 1000s ended up way smaller with all the triclones completely underdeveloped.. I’m trying to figure out what could possibly have made that difference???? Could it be because the 1000w bulbs were old? Would that cause the triclones not to fully developed? Any ideas??

1 year old 1000w vs new 600w lol........if you want to compare then at least compare apples with apples.

i somewhat disagree.. some people think that lumens is the end all be all answer to bigger buds, and to a degree it's true, but there are other factors that play a major role imo as well besides lumens..

maybe the room with the 1k light got hotter than the room with the 600 ... heat is a killer for nice tight buds ime.. had a grow a few years ago in the dead of summer, no ac running, and i had a bunch of lose, foxtailing buds tha took 15 weeks for an indica dom strain, and i still took them down early.. damn things didn't want to finish to save my life..

so yeah, more lumens don't always mean bigger and better if it brings with it more issues like heat ..

I have the best luck with 600w. You get a better spread from multiple bulbs. The heat factor as mentioned, also I usually experience prettier buds in the zones that are cross-lit.

lol@ master cush

But on a serious note, 6 400s will out do 4 600s, which will out do 2 1ks and a 400. More bulbs = better.

More lumens, not always as racer said. Heat can really screw up some nice tight buds.

A hood will make a big difference to the density of bud.try the 1000 with a hood and compare

I run 3 600's and am pretty happy. I would like to have 1000's , but they use more power & I would have to change all my ballast. I know a dude who runs 4 400's and his buds are fat. So their is more to it then just light size, but in a perfect world more light is better.
