Better to use miracle gro fertilizer lightly? or no nutrients for veg stage?

first time grower and im doin it outdoors. i got some seeds in some purp i got down here in miami. Im hoping to at least get an oz of some mid grade weed off each of my 3 plants. I wanted to get an estimate of how much plants will yield without any nutrients during their vegetative stage. HELP PLEASE LOL

you cant really tell the outcome of your yield before hand unless mabey u been growing the same strain for many years in the same conditions.. that being said im a first time grower myself but a zip a plant is fairly easy imo least for some outdoor... i would not use miracle grow though myself thats kinda strong for seedlings, mabey pick up some FF Light Warrior soil... that will do u just fine mabey go out and get urself some Supperthrive this will bring ur plant to good size while in Veg... i myself only use my supperthrive when i transplant to give it a boost...

i know this is a personal choice, but the first thing i would do is ditch the MG and get some real nutes, iam currently using 2 of the 3 FF liquids (grow big and big bloom) and when they are gone (not gunna be for a year or so) plan on trying out their solid Trio, everyone i talk to cant say enough about Cha-Ching so i wanna try it out.

key word several. like on less than 10 fingers.

how many people can you count that will never touch MG in any of their grows again? not saying it wont work, just saying its unpopular for a reason.

If you think MG can't grow reefer you're a tad naive. There are a lot of people out there using it. The reason people have problems with MG is it's a heavy salt based fertilizer. It is very similar to fertilizers used everyday in agriculture. In my opinion it's just a little too good for some people.

It's certainly no miracle fertilizer though. You can't rely on it alone. You will need a bloom fertilizer and I didn't particularly care for MG's line. It's fine though for veg, just start at 1/4 strength and double it every week. Depending on how big your plants get you may even need to step it up higher than they call for, just watch your plants and don't overdo it.

i have to state, once again, i DID NOT say it was impossible, or even hard. if you actually read what i typed, i said "i know this is a personal choice, but the first thing i would do is ditch the MG".

if someone would like to point out where i said that it was impossible, well, id still call you a liar cuz it didn't happen. i said it was personal choice, and after someone retorted when not actually reading my post, i clarified it more so. was it not good enough? let me try one more time and since apparently people cant research or even read a post right above their reply, ill spell it out....

MG comes hot out of the bag (as does FF), but like an above poster said, heavy in salt. you can grow in mg soil, you can use mg nutes, BUT they are easy to burn plants with, can easily cause a salt buildup, and (ill caps this so i dont get misunderstood again) IN MY EXPERIENCE the pH can be a bit off for what you want for MJ.

it can be done. this was not my point. my point was that it doesn't need to be done, especially considering that things like FF are as cheap as they are (in my area).

-edit- if you truly dont believe me when i say it is not usually chosen for a reason, just do a search, or better yet start a poll. most seasoned growers will tell you that they dont like it.
-edit2- and to be fair (i wont NOT knock myself) i also misread the OP's post. when he said mg i assumed he also meant his soil (via pots outdoors).

Relax, Relax everybody. MG has a good price point, and that is usually why new growers opt to use it. As with anything (Nutrients) you use, just read the directions, and pay close attention to your plants. I personally use Advanced Nutrients, and only because I believe in the "Weed Cause" Big Mike clearly states what his product is, and what it is used for. He does not hide the fact, and I am proud to use his product just for that reason. Stupid I know, but hey what the hell, this is the United States.:peace:

thanks for all the info i was pretty sure the mg was gunna cause controversy lol i really want to use the fox farm nutes cuz ive been hearing good things.. they would sell that at a hydroponics store right? id rather pick it up than order it if possible. Since im a first time grower ill probably ditch the mg but will a plant do better with no nutes at all during its veg stage? or an extremely SMALL amount of mg mixed into water? im going to have about 3 purp plants and 8 mid grade plants so im really gunna play around with the mid grade and experiment. i just wanna be careful with my purp<3 lol
