Beyond Scared Straight

There's a marathon going on today and it seems like every single episode, they blame weed, then alcohol, then everything else (single parents, coke, anger, etc.)

One guy went so far as to say that weed is a gateway drug.

I liked this show up until I saw more than 2 episodes, it seems like almost every one of these inmates are in jail because it started with weed.

Anyone else watch this show? WTF is up the obvious attack on weed??? This marathon is looking more and more like something that was geared directly at weed

I watched a bit of it.......they are getting something in return from the Prison or the producers to say that shit................we didnt talk like that when I was in for 5 years...............

luv the show. actually went to the squires at san quentin when i was 14. sort of got scared straight i guess. i dont know why they cant get over the whole weed thing. imo let em hammer weed all they want. keepin it medical i think is the best way to go.

It almost seemed scripted at some points.

I saw every episode during the marathon and IMHO, it was an all out assault on weed and alcohol. According to the show those 2 things lead to jail.

I think it's just kids that can't handle their shit. I mean, some of the kids have fucked up lives but most seem like punks.

Prisons depend on marijuana being illegal. It's subliminal messaging going on in the show. That being said, I find it funny how the kids usually get on the right track at the end of the show, but it says they still smoke weed. I guess it's not the problem they make it out to be lol.
