Hey RIU peeps!
Well, this is my second journal but my first public one so bear with me. Let me start off by saying I am a female grower and this is my 4th grow. I am finishing up a grow of Mandala's Satori which you can read about by clicking the link in my siggy. She will be chopped this week so I went ahead and started a few seeds a couple of weeks ago. I popped Big Bud #2 (a freebie from Herbie's), Mandala seeds Hashberry, and I am making a second attempt at growing Mandala seeds Fruitylicious. My first attempt at the Fruitylicious was along with my current Satori grow, but the Fruitylicious died on me a few weeks into flower as a result of some extenuating circumstances. Again, you can read that journal for more details. Okay, let's grow:
Lighting: Seedlings are currently under 4 23watt 6500k cfls in my homemade rubbermaid box until I chop my Satori that is in darkness until chop day (tomorrow). They will then be moved into my 2X2X4 grow tent to complete their veg under a T5 fluorescent. I always say I'm going to do a complete T5 grow but change to my 400 watt HPS once flowering starts to get the most bang for my buck. Still undecided about whether or not I'm actually going to go through with a full T5 for experimentation's sake ... we'll see once sexes are determined. The only two sexes I know for sure are the Fruitylicious girls as I bought feminized seeds of those.
Nutes: Dynagro and Jack's Classic for the first time ever. I usually use AN but I'm testing some other things to see if I want to continue investing in their products or if other less pricey products will work just as well if not better.
Water: Ph'd tap water. I don't do all the ppm/EC checking and stuff so if you ask what those readings are just know I will not have a clue. I have enjoyed each of my grows just doing the basics and I have had comfortable yields and good smoke for a private stash hobbyist so ... I may get into checking more of those types of details to get better at the craft later, but for today I'm simply too lazy .
Training: Some mild to moderate LST as needed.
Here's my temporary setup and my babies:
Here's the Hashberry (regular) 2 weeks old
Big Bud #2 (regular) 2 weeks
Fruitylicious A & B (feminized) both 1 week old. Girl "A" is the healthier of the two as "B" is showing me signs of being a little sensitive like my first fruitylicious girl was. She's starting to lighten up on the lower leaves like she wants to yellow even though she has endured everything the other plants have endured which was an extremely weak 1/4 tsp. of Dynagro in 2 gallons of water. So ... I'll keep a close eye on her as she may not be that hardy and I don't want her to die like my first one did. I'll just give her Ph'd water over the next couple of weeks and see how she does.
Alright, that's it for now. I plan on doing updates at least once a week if not more, but for certain at least once every 7 days.
Peace and much grow love to all!
