big canopy

i am a first time grower and this is my first post on roll it up! i have 4 plants in their 6th week of veg. all 4 are short and bushy, and have a massive canopy! i am noticing that a lot of my leaves that are under my canopy are turning brown, crumpling up, and falling off. i'm sure this is due to lack of light, but my question is, is it better to have a big healthy canopy or is it better to remove some fan leaves and let the light penetrate farther into the plant?

Keep the leaves during your veg period cause its just helping your plant grow. Once you hit flower tho get rid of all that stuff on the bottom that doesn't get much light. This will push the plants hormones up the plant where it can be used on the tops. If your plants are getting that big and you still haven switched to flower you might think about it soon. Some plants will stretch 3x there size when they hit flower.

A little of both. Remember you are indoors(you are indoors...right?). Proper environment control will dictate what is done... exactly. What you have explained sounds like a breeding ground for all sorts of thing, brown and crispy...isn't good. Removal of leaves isn't for light penetration, no, its for air circulation and evaporation. R/H, air flow and the removal of cramped quarters are the main reasons for removal, at least that's what I tell everyone here with similar issues. JAS

If you let them veg too long they're going to get HUGE and possibly too big. Keep in mind that your plant is guaranteed to stretch at least twice the size, you definitely don't want to end up with a 6 foot plant so I'd consider putting them into 12/12

Bigger is not always better i am currently learning that one. trust me get over everything giving you a lb and being 9 feet tall..... you do not want that yet lol but good luck with your grow!!

nothing wrong with a 2 month veg. my critical kush and a bubblegumxtop44 freebie that looks sexy got lollipopped and transplanted to 5g yesterday at 7 weeks. at 8 im getting my new hortilux bulb and going into flower. i use 6 plants under a 1k this time around.

i keep getting the brown leaves at the bottom of my plants (last two pics) so i keep taking them off.
