big time grow question

i was wondering how the people that do full house grows run electricity w/out stealing it? And how they plug in that many watts in a room without tripping the circuit, i plug in 3k watts and my circuit pops.

not many full house growers here, :( (and I'm not one of them!:( )
depends on the size of the house, and how much electrisity you'd be using, according to seemorebuds, and a few other sources an extra 1,000W per bedroom is no biggie, but you should probably gradualy build up to that.
if you really want to do a full house grow maybe solar panels are something to look into?

you should probably use one circuit per 1,000-1,500 watts your circuit is probably a 15 or 20A. you are only supposed to use 2/3 or 3/4 of your breaker rating though (dumb) I'm having a new breaker and outlets put in tomorrow :)

jesus christ dude...

most household circuits are rated at 8 amps.. your trying to pull over 25....you going to either need to use seperate breakers from other room by either putting stuff in those rooms or running some extension cords

generators aren't very cost eficient, but some people use them, I would go for solar panels though, their a one time (very expensive one time) investment. that probably will pay for itself in a year if your going that big, but then their is oh so much more to wory about, it would be very costly, time consuming, and you would have to plan for a few months.

Solar panels would be sweet, but where I live you wouldn't generate much power between October and April.

Buying gas for a generator is much more expensive than buying power from the utility company.

Adding circuits is not that technically difficult. If you're handy, you can definitely do it yourself. Usually when adding a circuit to an existing home the hardest part is neatly routing the wire.

To figure out how many circuits you need just divide your wattage by 120 to get amps, assuming you're on a 120 volt circuit.

So you're 3000 watts divided by 120 volts = 25 amps Your breaker should be blowing. But if you spread that same load across two 15 amp circuits you're good to go!
