Biggest question I have ever asked...

I have been reading around and it seems like most indoor growers give their girls 3 weeks veg time or so and then snip... but I was wondering...

What keeps someone from letting their plants veg for like 2 months? Why is it so uncommon?

If I did a nice big pot (bucket) andkept it fed and happy with the right lighting, would it be hard to veg for 2 months or more? I just figure considering outdoor benefits the veg time is one big reason for outdoor. Outdoor plants get like a 5-6 month lease on life while indoors usually chop after 3 or so months.

You can vegg your plants for as long as you want . The reason most dont vegg long indoors is due to space restictions and also that it can be more productive to have many smaller plants in the same space that it would take to support one monster. And dont forget that your plant is going to get two to even three times its size once you start flowering it. Hope that helps.

they'd get too tall for a light to penetrate fully so what's the point your just wasting time and electricity.
Outdoors it's different ball game as reflected light can penetrate the whole plant regardless of size.

Glad you asked. Alot of people are inpatient, or height issues. Even with height issues there are ways to allow a longer veg.
Me myself I veg for 3 months, I like to see my ladies Fully Mature, Full of Raging Hormones and Full of nodes/Leafs. The Bonus is Major Buds.

So whats a good solid veg time for you guys? The light penetration doesn't seem like a big no no because I was thinking to hit from above with the main big light and then hang 65 watt auxiliary bulbs around her near middle of them to light her up like a christmas tree :D

What I do is let them get 6" high Fim once then when they reach maturity I clone everything below fim, then on average when they are 18-24" High (around 3 mo.s) I go 12/12. I get anywhere from 4-7.5 oz.
p.s. if you fim your tops will be pretty even and thats IMO better than one main cola near light and lots of popcorn below.
