biochar should i try it lol

i read on the net that the pre columbians did this slash and char instead of burn and would use the char in the soil and its still fertile today 1500 years ago insane lol i know charcoal is not biochar it not all the way burned biomass chunks i was gonna try it but thought i would see what everyone thought first get another opinion and i wouldnt want to mess up the good guys in my soil either i know just a test lol so dont flame me here

Lump or 'Cowboy' charcoal=bio char.

Spend lots of $$$ and get the graded sizes, or take a hammer and make your own.

Yes, using bio char is totally beneficial. I'm making some this weekend with some of the bigger branches from the huge bushes I had to cut down to build my garden beds.

A friend of mine just did it over in her garden too. It's literally just slow burning wood. You can spread out a pile of wood scraps, bigger pieces, and light them up. Then just throw some dirt on it as it burns to keep it burning slow. Some people spray them I think as well...

Then just mix it in with your soil. If you're using it indoors, same deal. Just mix the char pieces in with your soil.

I read but I don't understand, are you asking a question or making a statement?

yep its good don't forget the other fact their compost was a 30:1 carbon to nitrogen ratio. but yes the carbon from cowboy will do great I smash it up and add to what ever I am planting

i made some instead of buying it couple logs set them burning threw on brush from the compost some compost i added manure grass weeds let it burn half way and covered it in a layer of clay soil its was all i had and it was a test really for my outside attempt next year a walk away grow lmao

i dont know if that was how to exactly do it but it kept me busy for a day lol

i would love to make a good amount make a plot out in the sticks and see if it worked for a whole season even better next after next ect. do a gorilla grow anyone do this yet ??

that is actually available, the particular soil is regenerative and is highly prized..gotta go get coffee i'll be back about this there is a lot going on folks do not know about in soil science and discoveries of the old methods.

yeah its probly couple hundred though shiping magic,packing ,digging,plus tax lol i should look it up really just too see

Biochar works really well for tighter buds, more flowers, disease....You don't need to use more than 10% if you use good stuff. I use Black Owl Biochar (raw biochar), and I mix it with my other amendments. I hear they are coming out with "Mellow Mix" with biochar sometime this year.
