moth balls is scent based so no it wont affect your trees. the scent will keep animals and birds away from your plants it will work better if you hang em by a string. and yes you can buy em in clothing stores.

just tie a couple aluminum pie pans to nearby tree limbs. anything shiny and easily moved by the wind will keep birds away. it's been working for me since i was a little kid.

Please dont put mothballs on your plants. If you do tell me ahead of time so I dont smoke it. Mothballs have chemical pesticides in them (and not the ones meant for food) You will likely make someone sick AND probably poison a ton of birds making your grow very obvious when birds start dropping dead in all the yards in your neighborhood. Also mothballs smell bad.

If you want to keep the birds off of your plants go with the netting (small holes so you dont ensnare any local birds.

give thanks for the many suggestions. I will try to implement a the most practical of these. I am kind a skeptical about those moth ball though how close my trees must it be if it is to be effective? Also distance if these chemical (dangerous) to be damaging to my trees and by extention my wellbeing? Any further suggestions are sure welcome :joint:

chemicals what is the distance of harmful effect on humans. These birds are very small and are able to stand on the trees without breaking them\
