black mold in my watering canister

so i noticed this morning when i went to feed my plants that bas of now i have black mold in my watering container, so i had to throw out a whole canister of nutes/water/molasses, becasue i wasn't going to pour that into my ladies.

i know the solution, clean the canister.

the question is, how do i avoid this growing in the future, or is it just gonna happen because i'm using the molasses?

the canister is light and air tight, and i like using it because i can mix 2 -3 whole feedings at one time.

maybe i have to get a new one?

I used 20 gallon buckets in the past (4) and I always cleaned them once a week and never added my molases into bucket. I would fill my one gallon container up then add molasses and check my ph again. Molases will drop your ph fast and heavy.
