Black specs on top of plant

Black specs showed up on only one plant, only at the top next day after transplant in potting soil. indoor only. Random bug droppings? Mold?

Does not look like a fungus (blight) or a deficiency. I would wipe it off and keep and eye on the plant for a few more days.
