Black Tuplis and Me

Ok well apparently my great or great great grandfather invented the black tulip and sold the lineage to a flower company but i cant confirm this on the web, i even have some notes on his attempts but i don't know if he actually did it, all i could find was that a company in Holland offered a cash reward to the first person to do it and my family was in fact living in Europe at the time. dose anyone know much about black tulips?

i know a fair amount. not to be nosey but what is the last name of your grandfather and the name of the company. i am a commerical grower who buys thousands of plants from holland every month. maybe i know someone in the company.
