Bleaching/Discoloration/Nute burn? Please Help!

  1. Hello fellow farmers! I need some help to diagnose what's going on with me ladies! I have 12 clones vegging in a 3x3x2 DIY grow box with a 24" double T5 and two regular say, 50w cfl 6500k bulbs. The clones are in fox farm happy frog soil and I have only been feeding plain R.O bottled water for the last couple of week.

The problem is that some of the girls are developing bleached leaves and some are getting discoloration, dark marks, and even spots that look like nute burn. Some of the new growth is a super light green, almost yello yellow color.
I had the T5 about 4" away from the girls and just raised it to about 8 inches. Hoping that works.

Also, I've used FF happy frog in the past for my outdoor grows and I haven't experienced nute burn from the happy frog, but I believe the bag had been sitting for a good while at the hydro shop before I bought it. It is a small bag not the regular 2c.u but the small bag that still says organic on it. I've noticed the newer big bags of happy frog no longer say organic just natural.

Anyways, any help or suggestions needed and greatly appreciated please!!!

    Jah bless!

    • This one is weird it has discoloration but its different than the rest cause it seems like it has darker spots or marks.
On the third pic you can see a dark mark right above my finger nail.

  7. The temps in the box average from 75-80 and humidity from 55-70.

I have a small fan inside but no intake or exhaust yet. The lights are on 24/7.

Any other info or questions you have let me know but someone please help soon!

Thank you fellow farmers. God bless.

Looks like over watering to much nitrogen based on the last two pics,, and lockout causing mag deficiency,,
Maybe, just a guess. Lol there are plenty of charts that can answer your question if you look,

Jimmy S & Farmerfi Thank you very much for your reply!

I have to start somewhere to find out what's happening.

I'm puzzled as I've used only soil with no nutes until about 6 weeks into vegging with my past outdoor gardens but I guess indoor is a lot different and each strain is different.

I think I will get me a fresh bag of soil, perhaps go with roots organic this time and re-pot all the ladies and get some grow nutes.

But how can I stop nute lock out? Just pure h20 isn't it? But then if I do pure water the deficiency will still be a problem??

Jimmy & Farmer thank you very much once again! That info you guys posted will definitely help me find the solution. I will definitely re-pot and get me some organic growth nutrients.

I will watch the watering to make sure I don't over water but every time I water I make sure the cups are light and the top of the soil is dry.

IMG_20160204_135632948.jpg So I decided not to re-pot just yet, but I went and got me some nutes. I added general Organics grow, bioweed and cal/mag to the ladies. Hopefully this will solve the problem! Also got some FF bone meal for when I re-pot.

I thi nk some fresh quilty soil bigger pot, those babys kick right in
Thanks thumper! I will re-pot but gonna wait a few day I want to see if adding those nutes will help the problem. But I def need to re-pot soon for sure. Any good organic soil you recommend?? Ive used fox farm in the past and has worked good but for outdoors, this is first time indoor.
