Bloody spider mites in flower!

Hi guys,

ive just filled my bowser for the first day of week 5 of flower

All of the plants are at different stages due to the spider mites stopping them from growing, one or two look like they’ve stopped completely with the smallest little buds on

I’ve filled my bowser to an EC of 1.9 in soil and the ph is always 6.2 - 6.5

will it affect my harvest or will they catch up if I can get rid of the mites?

still Looking very small and long white hairs, hardly any crystals at all on them or the leaves

I’ve just given them a fine mist to wipe the cobwebs off the top colas but each leaf has bite marks and some are completely yellow

really worried at the minute so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

(first two photos aren’t really affected by the mites but the last two photos are of a very small budding plant)

Sucks,if you have clones or a veg room going they need to be moved. a shop vac will suck a lot of them off just put a filter over the exhaust and some water in the vac.
You can limp the room along and try to finish just keep killing by hand.
Green clean or something ive read here works but only in veg.

Thanks for the reply man.

Will the little one bounce back do you think?

She has some burnt tips due to being so small and not keeping up with the bigger ones and taking the nutes

Green Cleaner is your new best friend. It is safe to use in flower up to harvest. (I wash all my buds at harvest and would recommend with whatever solution you come up with)

I got hit with some spider mites when I lost power a week into flower and had to bring my plants outside for their daily ration of light. I didn't realize I had an infestation until about week 5 as well.

I have been spraying with the green clean per the instructions to keep the mites at bay and to prevent them from getting to my other plants. seems to be doing ok thus far. I'm now at week 9 and have lots of large buds!

that’s great! I’ve just looked online and I can’t see it anywhere available to buy green cleaner in my country unfortunately

did any of your buds temporarily stop growing while you had the outbreak? I’m worried about a couple of my plants

If you're seeing mite damage in week 5 of flower the good news is you've made it through the bulk of your flower period and only have 3-5 week to go unless you're flowering a pure sativa. I had the same issue my last flower cycle. There are only so many things that are effective against mites, and there are only so many products that are safe to use to kill / control them in flower. I used 2 products by Marrone Bio Innovations that are both organic and non toxic to humans. The 2 products also will not cause your crop to fail a pesticide residue test. Venerate CG and Grandevo CG worked great for me. You don't use them at the same time though. Apply Venerate CG and then 3-7 days later apply Grandevo CG to interrupt the larval cycle and gain control of the infestation. Continue the rotation until the end of flower. Neither products are contact killers. Both products contain a fungus that coats the leaves of your plants and fucks the mites stomach up so they can't eat or reproduce. Good shit. Pricey though. I paid around $65 for each container. Will probably last me a year at least. $130 was worth saving my harvest without question. Cheaper prices can be had online. I paid too much.

Does it really matter if it slows growth
You can only do so much in full flower

Years ago I got hit with an infestation and was treated like the plague for not keeping my grow clean and tight
I learned from that experience and smoked a lot of webbed buds
You can't fix it in flower as you either ride it out or bin them
chopping now would be sad

ive Been in veg for 8 weeks and 4 of flower so far so it seems a waste of time to chop them now.
I’ll just keep vacuuming them off and hoping for the best

Thanks guys

Tell whoever gave you a hard time to go fuck themselves. Anyone can get mites. They're everywhere. On the grass outside, bushes, roses, etc. People can be complete assholes for human beings sometimes. The easiest way most of us indoor growers get mites is by the little fuckers hitchhiking on our shoes / clothing. But don't for one moment think you can't control the fuckers to get through to harvest. The last thing you want is a proliferation of mites and eggs that you will have a very difficult time eliminating from the room. Those mite eggs are like cockroaches. Fuckers can survive nuclear winter dam near. The point is the fewer of those bastards that are laying eggs the fewer you have to eliminate from your grow room. 10% bleach wash every thing in the fucking room when it's done. Get those piece of shit parasitic motherfucker's sent to mite hell where they belong. Also, you can order a product called Forbid 4F from Bayer on ebay for about $30. Mix it up @ .9ML/gallon or about .25ML/quart. Spray once in early veg. The plants are protected for 6 weeks. Spray once more before the 12/12 flip. They are protected for another 6 weeks. Forbid is widely used by outdoor gardeners because it's one of the few products that works. Shit's like a nuclear warhead for bugs. Wear a respirator when you apply it and NEVER spray it in flower.

My Sweet Zombie plant was stunted a little, I know for sure because a clone of the plant is at week 5 of flower now and the buds are the same size as the plant that is about to finish, but my Fire OG plant that was also infested wasn't stunted at all.

I don't know for sure, but from my personal experience, some strains seem more resistant to the mites.
