Bodeva 58% Packs

Hey everyone, I noticed how some of you really liked the bodeva packs. I was in a hurry for security reasons to get my Cheese harvest dry so I had them pretty dry (stem not snapping) for after 4 days at ~35% humidity, 60-65degrees . Then they went to brown paper bags and rotated daily for a week (not completely trimmed still). I'm going to place the bud in quart or pint mason jars with the 8g 58% packs. I was excited to see they are making 58% now because 62% made me nervous for storage up to 6 months. As a beginner, I wanted to use the packs one less thing to mess up, as I know my friends usually tend to way over dry.

Either way, I wanted to post to see what you all thought about this dry/cure process and also wanted to let you know about the new 58% packs, as I've read a lot of you really wished they would come out with something 58-60 instead of 62.

I've had good luck with the 62% packs so far (no mold), but I'm trying the Boost 55% for the next round. Also I'm finding that the 8g seem to be a bit small for the quart jars unless you have the moisture level pretty close to perfect before long term storage.

i think the 62 are pretty spot-on for me at least. our RH here in CO is usually below 30, so the buds dry out real fast when they come out of the CVault anyway.

any of the large scale growers ever use a decent sized cigar humidor? seems like that would be killer. set the RH whatever you like.

Seems like the 62% ones work. I doubt going to 58% will make too much of a difference for me. Thanks for the input

I've use the Boveda 62 for a couple of years with good results. I've switched to Integra Boost 62 for a couple of reasons. While I do not measure relative humidity, product stored with the Integra Boost seems just a tad dryer. They come with a card to be placed in with the product to indicate when the pack is no longer maintaining perfect humidity. The gel inside seems to be a slower, more gentle humidity modification. They are also significantly less expensive if you do a bit of poking around on the internet and buy in bulk from a distributor. Seems the Boveda company is attempting to go to a "direct to consumer" business model in order to keep prices high.

Yea the 62 packs are fine. I have roach weed that is still in good shape after about a year so far. I dry them till the stems crack, stick them in a jar with the packs and never worry about it again.

I cut. I trim. I hang in a dark closet. I wait 3-4days. I put in brown paper bag for 1day. I jar the next day & burp every 4-6 hours for 2 days. I burp once a day for 3-6 days. I wait at least 2-3wks (checking periodically) to smoke.... That's it!

Note: I also use Boveda 62% packs & hygrometer (humidity meters) in my jars to keep an eye on humidity while curing.
I've tried flushing & putting in total darkness for 48 hrs (also tried 24hrs) before cutting but I honestly could not tell the difference, so now I don't bother.
