books are all telling me different things about ph

i have three books and they all say that i should keep my plants at a different ph cannabis cultivation by mel thomas pg 46 says ph should be at 5.5 the best of ask ed by ed rosenthal pg 119 says 6.1 to 6.3 the cannabis grow bible by greg green says 5.2 to 6.3

Does anybody have a real answer or are they all correct?

ive been trying for 6.1 to 6.3 having to constantly bring it down would be easier if i could lower it more and had a larger range

reason i went with ask ed was cannabis cultivation said ph of 7 for soil and i thought that was wrong and the other had bible in the title

Yeah 7 is too high. That's what my normal tap waters at, I add ph down to get it closer to 6.... 6.2 is about perfect, sounds like you're fine :bigjoint:

6.1 to 6.8 is for soil (6.5 ideal)
5.2-6.3 for hydro (5.8 ideal?)

So they are both right.

It depends on what kind of plant you are growing :) Pot - 5.5 - 6.3 with 5.8 being the sweet spot. Tomatoes like a 6-6.5 ph, lettuce like a bit lower ph. Peppers like a pretty high ph. Get it :)

I recommend all people that grow pot grow a few veggies as well. It will definitely speed up the learning process. Also in the place I work we have alot of people coming in buying hydro equipment and using obvious terminology. For instance, mom plants are null and void when growing legal things. Lucas formula is a big no-no, getting the males out of your garden is a big no-no as well.

For hydro?

I'd *never* go with 5.8 for soil.
