Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow/Bloom question

Strangely I'm having to mix 2 tbs (30 ml) of their Grow or Bloom hydro nutes per gal to get the right results. Not only does Botanicare only call for just 1 tbs/gal, but on other forums I've read the same recomendation claiming excellent results. When I try to use this ratio my 2 month old plants show noticeable nute deficiencies. I'm a veteran grower and conditions are otherwise ideal, so I can't figure out what's up. It's pricey enuf stuff without having to use twice as much to get good results. I have no complaints with it other than this. Anybody have any ideas or have experienced anything similar?

I kinda follow the label directions and I never had to use more than 25 ml of base nutes combined neither in soil or hydro. Are you running CO2? Anyways I always compliment with the minimum dosage of calmag and sometimes sweet but had I limed my soil and I'm sure I wouldn't need it as PBP has plenty in it. I also keep using grow nutes (5ml/Gallon) until week 3 when I switch to full bloom (25ml/gal). I've had very good results with this recipe, take a look:

Have heard some say the PB grow or bloom doesn't contain enough Calcium or Magnesium, hence the CalMag many supplement with. While others have claimed most tap water makes up the difference. No, I'm not using CO2, but should mention I'm running a F&D hydro with gravel medium. I'm relatively new to the Botanicare PB after being long commited to a locally (Pacific Northwest/Seattle based) well known nute, Eco-Gro that's been around since the early '80's that's organically based and works quite well. However their dry granular nutes are unstable and have a poor shelf life beyond frig. temps, so it doesn't get much play elsewhere. And just never tried their two-part liquid they developed more recently.
I've tried everything I can think of including playing with the PH, all to no avail. As I said, when I about double what you and so many others recomend I do indeed see excellent growth rate and color, the whole bit. Maybe it's this new strain cross from Highlife Seeds they call AK X Misty that hasn't been fully stabilized yet or something. Even if Heath Robinson is now behind the wheel over there.

No man I don't get it, I run flooded tubes and DWC buckets, same recipe, better results... I use 60 gal of water each week, I can't imagine having to grow at your current rates, it's too expensive. So you might consider looking into AN that's very concentrated and I've read it works well when you learn to use them.

Well I've concluded it has to be this odd cross strain of AK X Misty. Several of the seeds that germ. were stunted and seemed to have nutrient uptake problems early on anyway. The few remaining only turned out looking healthy in the earliest stages beyond seedling. Ever since they seem to be developing similar problems as time goes on. Have to admit I've only seen this sort of thing in an occasional seedling out of a group. But never where all plants turned up having essentially the same problem as they developed. They simply have nutrient uptake problems and aren't worth the effort and expense to find some suplement combo that might or might not solve the issue. Thanx maps84. From my experience running 18 kw over the course of a few years, botanicare pure blend pro yielded me roughly half of a raw chemical DIY variation of Fatmans hydro nutes in myriad dwc and low pressure aero grow rooms. The quality also went up drastically with no other changes to my systems except for the different nutes. Cha ching will boost your yield in flower but it contains a lot of kelp. Kelp smells bad after a few days in the res ( even immediately but worse thereafter). A good rule of thumb with anything fishy smelling or full of dung is to not use it anywhere near the last two weeks of flowering, although I wouldn't use anything with kelp past week 4 of flowering, that's just my personal preference. When I started using Fatmans DIY nutes ( with a slight variation) i didn't need things like Cha Ching anymore because the nutrient had more than enough P and K to begin with. Botanicare PBP is an outright disaster in a hydro system. Why? The bloom is Not fully soluble in water. Furthermore, one of the few guidelines in determining suitability of a nutrient for hydro is that it must be fully soluble in water at the concentration intended.Also, only chemical nutes will give you the most possible success in hydro. Just ask the WHK ( world hydro king) Heath Robinson.

PBP is pretty light. Their recommended dose might be so low because they're assuming you're using it in conjunction with all of their other products and don't want you to burn your plants?

Another possibility is that your plants are heavy "eaters". I'm definitely had strains that I can't keep in the same systems due to EC requirements.

I have been using the Pro Soil Grow and Bloom with good results and even better results this grow. I start with 1 ml per gallon at week 2 of veg and slowly increase to 8 mls until flower. Once I flip I start to replace 1 ml of Grow for Bloom from week 1-2 until I get to 8 mls of Bloom. For me this has grown lush green happy plants with signs of deficiencies or burn. I also feed GO calmag+, GH Berry Nectar, Botanicare Original Berry, Humboldt Honey, Cyco postash flower weeks 1-4 and Cyco Swell weeks 5-8 I water with these daily and once in a while I will do just a calmag and sweet watering. I grow in Happy Frog soil in Aurora grow bags with 2 Co2 bags.

Just wanted to say thanks to Maps84 for posting up that schedule. I was constantly having problems with AN during flower and grow shop turned me on to Botanicare. Been using your flowering schedule with some slight tweaks for my situation and it's working great. Do you have a similar Veg schedule your willing to share?

For more experienced growers - does anyone see any CLEAR issues with this Botanicare PBP recipe?

Curious if your still using the PureBlend Pro and if so what recipe you settled on the the results? What kind of system are you running?

Honestly I go by ppm when I use botanicare pure blend pro and bloom. I also use a conjunction of other nutrients like mammoth p, sweet berry, hydroguard, super thrive, and terpinator
