Hey Everyone! Hope all are staying nice and toasty!
When working with organic soil like Subcool's Supersoil, compost from your composting bin, or just the amendments that exist within your Ocean Forest or Root's Organic soil, it's important to maintain a colony of bacteria that can decompose this organic matter. Naturally found in bat guano, worm castings, ect. are these precious colonies of beneficial bacteria. Slowly, as you let your organic soil and compost "cook" these colonies consume this matter, grow, and replicate, converting it into great nutrition for your plants.
This process isn't limited to the colonies of bacteria already in your soil though!
There are organic products on the market that aid in decomposing organic matter and solubilizing this matter into bio-available nutrition for your plants. Using products that contain a good starter colony of bacteria that give the proper "expression" (what the group of bacteria do together and not individually), can accelerate the amount of nutrition in your soil to feed hungry plants.
One of these products is called OMRI Listed Soil Blast from Supreme Growers. It's about half the cost of Great White and Myco Madness ($25 for 5oz bottle), but works just as well if not better! From what I have found, Great White is good, but it has a lot of clay filler that is unnecessary and plants can't utilize the clay. Not to mention, I personally don't believe all of the species of bacteria aid in our favorite plants growth.
Soil Blast has 4 species of bacteria and 2 species of trichoderma in a kelp-based formula. The kelp gives the beneficial microorganisms food to grow larger colonies of bacteria. This bacteria/fungi expression makes sure you soil stays clean of any bad microorganisms like root rot while decomposing the organic matter very fast through it's large colony of bacteria.
I was blown away from the growth rates I had from this product. I've tried almost every microbial product on the market and none of them have worked like this product has. You can visually see the soil being broken down throughout the plants life in the pot.
Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up to check it out! I got great results with my grow and wanted to share with you guys.
